Creating and saving global prompts in WP Sheet Editor – AI is a game-changer for boosting productivity and streamlining your content generation workflow.
These prompts can be used in various scenarios, such as cell editing, bulk edits across multiple items, content generation, or within AI chat to automate tasks and generate content efficiently.
Follow this step-by-step tutorial to learn how to create and save global prompts in WP Sheet Editor – AI.
1- Open the prompts page
Go to WP Sheet Editor > AI > Settings > Prompts.
2- Add a new prompt
Click on Add new to create a new prompt.
3- Give your prompt a clear name
Start by creating a new prompt and giving it a meaningful Name that reflects its purpose.
For example, if you want to generate SEO descriptions, you could name the prompt “SEO Description“. For tasks like translating a page or writing a post, names like “Translate Page” or “Write Post” will help you stay organized and quickly identify the prompts you need. This is important for generating a prompt slug that is easy to remember.
4- Input your prompt text
Enter the prompt text in the Prompt field. This is where you define the task that the AI will perform. You can write specific instructions for the AI to follow, such as:
- Generate post content based on post titles
- Summarize content to create post excerpts
- Automatically generate SEO titles and descriptions
Pro tip: Use variables to provide context: To make your prompt even more powerful, you can use variables to reference specific columns or fields within your data. These variables provide the AI with more context, making it easier for the AI to generate relevant content. For example, you might use variables like
$Title$
to automatically generate content based on the post title or
$Excerpt$
to summarize existing content. All the columns from WP Sheet Editor can be referenced in your prompt.
5- Save your global prompt
Once your prompt is ready, Save it to ensure you can easily reuse it in the future. With saved global prompts, you won’t need to write the same instructions every time.
Now that your global prompts are saved, a prompt slug will be automatically generated. You can use this prompt slug to apply this prompt in cells, bulk edits or the AI chat. You just need to write ai: followed by the prompt slug. For example:
ai:write-post
. Also, your global prompts appear as “AI commands” in the bulk edit tool for quick execution in bulk; and you can use the global prompts in the chat by typing / at the beginning of your message.
