In this tutorial, we will show you how to export and import The Events Calendar data with Google Sheets.

- Export events to Google Sheets
- Import events from Google Sheets
- Export organizers to Google Sheets
- Import organizers from Google Sheets
- Export venues to Google Sheets
- Import venues to Google Sheets

We will use the WP Sheet Editor – The Events Calendar plugin. It allows you to manage your events, venues and organizers in an intuitive spreadsheet.
You can download the plugin here:

Besides, we will use the Google Sheets Sync service. It allows you to connect your WordPress site to your Google Sheets account to export and import content easily.
You can sign up to the service here:
Sign up to the Google Sheets Sync Service - or - Check the features
You need to follow the steps in the sections below to connect your WordPress site to your Google Sheets account, export events from The Events Calendar to Google Sheets, and/or import events from Google Sheets into WordPress.
Connect WordPress to Google Sheets
When you sign up for the Google Sheets Sync service, you will receive a helper plugin that will allow you to connect your WordPress site with your Google Sheets account, the Google API, and the WP Sheet Editor API.
We have prepared a tutorial to show you how to set up the helper plugin. You can read it by clicking here.
Decide what you’ll to export/import (events, venues, organizers)
The WP Sheet Editor – The Events Calendar plugin allows you to view and manage events, venues, and organizers using spreadsheets.
You have to decide what you will export and import; the Google Sheets Sync service works with all WP Sheet Editor spreadsheets that run in the backend.
- To open the events’ spreadsheet: Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit events.
- To open the venues’ spreadsheet: Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit venues.
- To open the organizers’ spreadsheet: Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit organizers.
In this tutorial, we will use the events’ spreadsheet, but you can apply the same steps for the venues and organizers spreadsheets.
Export The Events Calendar data to Google Sheets
Let’s see how to export The Events Calendar data to Google Sheets. In this case, we will export events, but you can export venues and organizers as well.
Let’s start by opening the Export tool.
Now we need to select the following values to export events to Google Sheets:
- Select the columns you want to export. You can select specific columns by typing the column names, select all the active columns (all the columns that are visible in the spreadsheet), or all the columns (including both visible and hidden columns).
- Select the rows you want to export. Here you can select if you want to export all items, all the items from a specific search, or all the items that you have manually selected in the spreadsheet.
- Select the Google Sheets app.
- Add a name for this export, and the Google Sheet will inherit that name.
- Click on Start new export.
After the export process is completed, you’ll see a View Google Sheet link, so you can click on it to open the Google Sheet that has been generated.
Create and edit The Events Calendar data on Google Sheets (events, venues, organizers)
After you have exported the data from The Events Calendar plugin to Google Sheets, you can start editing or creating new events, venues or organizers in Google Sheets.
In the screenshot below you can see how the events we have exported to Google Sheets look like.
Import The Events Calendar from Google Sheets
Important: If you want to import events, venues or organizers from Google Sheets to WordPress, you will need to export at least one row first, because our service only recognizes files that have been created with the service itself. This is good because we protect your privacy, as we do not have access to other files in your Google account, not even to other Google Sheets that have not been generated with our service.
Once you have added or edited The Events Calendar data on Google Sheets, you can start by opening the Import tool in WP Sheet Editor.
Now you need to select these values to import the data from Google Sheets into WordPress:
- Select the Google Sheets option as the Source from which you want to get the data.
- Select the Google Sheets file you want to import. If you don’t find it, you can click on the refresh button.
- Click on Next.
You can Import all the columns or Select individual columns to import. If you don’t want to import a given column, select Ignore this column.
Now you need to select how you want to import the events, venues, or organizers data.
In this example, we will Create new items and update existing items.
Since we will update existing items, we need to match the rows in the Google Sheet with the rows in WordPress.
For this, we will use the ID column.
Finally, you’ll see a preview of what the information will look like once it’s imported.
If everything is OK, you need to click the The preview is fine, start import button.
In this tutorial, we have shown you how to connect your WordPress site to your Google Sheets account, how to export The Events Calendar data to Google Sheets, and how to import data from Google Sheets.
