WooCommerce – How to Bulk Set Max Quantity per Order

In this tutorial, we show you how to bulk set max quantity per order in WooCommerce.

If you want to limit the number of pairs of shoes your customers can add to the cart, you can do it with WooCommerce Max Quantity. This plugin adds a field in which you can enter a number that will be the max quantity of products added to the cart for each product.

The problem arises when you want to edit hundreds of products. For example, if you want to edit all the shoes or all the shirts so that users can buy only two items, you would have to open each product and edit that field. This would take a long time.

That’s why we’ll use the WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet plugin to set max quantity per order in bulk.

After installing and activating the plugin, follow these steps to set max quantity per order in bulk.

1- Open the products spreadsheet

Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products.

The products’ spreadsheet shows you all the WooCommerce products with their detailed information. Each row is a product and each column is a field.

If you scroll to the right in the spreadsheet, you’ll see the Isa Wc Max Qty Product Max column.

Once you have found the column, you can edit the maximum amount of orders directly in the spreadsheet. To do this, just click on each cell and edit the number as if you were working in Excel or Google Sheets.

Once you have applied the maximum order quantity for the products you want, just save your changes.

2- Select the products you’ll edit

You can select products using the checkbox picker column, or you can search for all the products you want to edit by keyword, category, attribute, tag, etc.

To search for all the products you’ll edit, open the Search tool with one click.

Once you open it, you’ll see the following search fields:

• Contains keyword: Enter a keyword here and the plugin will filter all the products containing it in their title.
• Enter Tags: Enter any category, attribute, tag or shipping class and the plugin will filter all the products containing it.
• Search on variations: Search for all product variations only.
• Enable advanced filters: This checkbox allows you to search for products by date, price, etc. For example, to search for products priced at 10 dollars, select Regular Price = 10.
• Run Search: This button applies the search values and displays all the search results in the spreadsheet.

To search for all shoes, enter “shoes” in Contains Keyword, and click Run Search to display them all in the spreadsheet.

3- Bulk set max quantity per order

After filtering the products you’ll edit, open the Bulk Edit tool to edit all the search results.

Now select the following values to establish the maximum quantity per order for all the selected products.

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search.
• What field do you want to edit: Isa Wc Max Qty Product Max
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: 2
• Click Execute Now.

Once the changes have been applied to your products, you can see the information updated in the spreadsheet.

That was easy!

With these simple steps, you can bulk set max quantity per order into hundreds of products. You don’t have to open them one by one, but you can edit them all at once or filter them by category, attribute, keyword, tag, price, date, etc. In addition, you can edit variations only.
