In a previous guide, we covered how to bulk edit the cost of goods for hundreds of WooCommerce products in a spreadsheet. This tutorial covers the export side of that workflow: how to export cost of goods and product prices to a CSV file.
Exporting this data is useful when you need a focused report on product profitability. Rather than exporting your entire product catalog, you can pull just the fields you need (product name, regular price, and cost of goods) and use them to calculate profit margins and revenue in Excel or Google Sheets.
To do this, we’ll use the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products plugin. It gives you a spreadsheet interface inside your WordPress dashboard where you can view and edit all your WooCommerce products without opening each one individually. It also includes built-in export and import tools that support CSV files compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and other spreadsheet applications.
You can download the plugin here:

Once you have the plugin installed and activated, follow the steps below to export your cost of goods and product prices to a CSV file.
Step 1. Open the Products Spreadsheet
Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products in your WordPress dashboard. This opens the products spreadsheet, where every row represents a product and every column represents a field.
From this screen you can see all your products alongside their complete field data. The Wc Cog Cost column represents the Cost of Goods field. The Regular price column shows each product’s standard selling price. Both of these are the fields you’ll be exporting in the next steps.
Step 2. Open the Export Tool
Click Export on the top toolbar to open the export panel. This tool lets you choose which columns to include in the CSV file and configure how the export is generated.
Step 3. Configure and Run the Export
Inside the Export tool, configure the following settings to export only the cost of goods and price data:
- What columns do you want to export: Select the Name, Regular Price, and Wc Cog Cost columns.
- I understand it will export all the rows from my current search: Yes
- What app will you use to edit this file? (optional): Select the application you plan to use, such as Excel or Google Sheets.
- Name of this export (optional): Enter a name to save this export configuration. This lets you repeat the same export in the future without reconfiguring the settings each time.
- Click Start new export.
The plugin will generate and download a CSV file to your computer containing the columns you selected. The file will include one row per product, making it straightforward to sort and compare prices against cost figures in your spreadsheet application of choice.
Below is an example of how the exported data appears when opened in Microsoft Excel.
Each product appears as a row with its name, regular price, and cost of goods value. From here, you can add formulas to calculate gross margin, markup percentage, or net profit for each product.
Editing Offline and Importing Back
Because the export produces a standard CSV file, you can edit cost of goods and price data in Excel without an active internet connection. This is useful when working with a supplier’s updated pricing sheet or reviewing data somewhere you cannot access your WordPress dashboard.
Once you have made your changes, you can import the updated CSV file back into WooCommerce. See our guide on how to import cost of goods and product prices for the full step-by-step import process.
Sharing Reports with Clients or Team Members
The exported CSV is also a practical format for sharing cost and pricing data with clients, accountants, or team members who do not have access to your WordPress dashboard. You can share the file directly or paste the data into a report template, since the column structure is clean and readable in any spreadsheet application.
If you need to export the same selection of columns on a recurring basis, saving a named export configuration in the Export tool saves time. The saved export will appear the next time you open the tool, so you can run the same export without reconfiguring the settings.
Exporting WooCommerce cost of goods and product prices to a CSV file is a three-step process with WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products: open the products spreadsheet, open the Export tool, and select the Name, Regular Price, and Wc Cog Cost columns before clicking Start new export. The resulting CSV file can be used for profitability reporting, offline editing, or as the source file for a follow-up import.
