WP Sheet Editor – AI is a powerful service that allows you to connect your WordPress site to your favorite AI providers and craft exceptional AI-powered content directly on your WordPress website. It’s compatible with multiple AI providers and OpenAI-compatible language models.
In this guide, we will show you the steps you need to follow to get started.
1- Open the AI settings
Go to WP Sheet Editor > AI > Settings.
2- Choose your AI provider
Use the Provider dropdown to select the AI provider you want to use. WP Sheet Editor – AI supports multiple providers:
- OpenAI (image). This is the only provider that supports image generation currently, all the other providers are just for generating text).
- OpenAI (text)
- OpenRouter (text)
- Any other AI provider that uses the same format as OpenAI. This includes Cloudflare AI, Google Gemini, LMStudio, Ollama, etc.
Important considerations regarding your AI spending:
- You will pay your AI provider directly based on your usage. Your payment of WP Sheet Editor – AI is just for the tool; it doesn’t cover your AI usage. The pricing of your AI usage depends on the provider, AI model, and how many times you use that model.
- If you want to limit your spending, you can set usage/billing limits in your AI provider’s account, and monitor your AI API key usage regularly. WP Sheet Editor doesn’t track your AI spending; we just use the AI API key that you configure, and it’s your responsibility to manage the AI spending.
3- Select your desired language model
You need to paste the language model key in the Model Key field. Choose the language model that best suits your needs. Note, this is the model key, not the public name of the model.
If you’re unsure which model to pick, you can browse a list of models available from your selected provider by clicking the “View a list of models” link next to the Model Key field.
Note. The API Name (Optional) field is helpful to identify this provider if you want to create multiple providers. For example, identify which provider is used for a specific task and which provider is used for another task.
4- Add your API Key
To enable the AI to function, you’ll need to paste your API key into the API Key field. Your API Key is provided by your chosen AI provider, and it’s essential for authenticating your connection with their services.
5- Decide on your Model Context Length
The context length in large language models (LLMs) refers to the maximum amount of text the model can process at once, including both your input and the AI’s output. If this limit is exceeded, earlier parts of the text are truncated, and the model can no longer “see” them.
LLMs process text as tokens, which can be words, parts of words, or characters. The context length is measured in tokens, not words, because tokenization depends on the structure of the text. For example, “ChatGPT’s” is two tokens: “ChatGPT” and “‘s.”
A shorter context length is sufficient for simple tasks when you send short prompts and expect short answers, but a longer one is crucial for extended conversations or analyzing larger texts. Understanding context length helps ensure the model delivers accurate and coherent responses for your tasks.
Add the number of tokens you want this model to use in each session in the Model Context Length field.
6- Select the purpose of your model
Finally, select the purpose of your chosen AI model. You can use AI in several areas of WP Sheet Editor, so you can choose among these options:
- Chat
- Add new rows
- Cell editions
- Bulk edits
- Image generation (you must use the provider “OpenAI (image)” for this task, any other provider will fail for image generation)
WP Sheet Editor – AI allows you to configure multiple providers with different models for various tasks. You might use one model for generating text and another for creating images.
With these simple steps, you can start using WP Sheet Editor – AI to take your WordPress content creation and management to the next level.
