In this tutorial, we will show you how to export WooCommerce products to Google Sheets directly.
We’re not talking about downloading a CSV to your computer and uploading it to Google Sheets. Instead, we will connect your WooCommerce store with your Google Sheets account and create direct exports from WooCommerce to Google Sheets.
This is the best way to automate your WooCommerce exports to Google Sheets with a few clicks:
- No browser extensions needed
- No complicated scripts needed
- Set it up and start using it with a few clicks
What you need to export WooCommerce products to Google Sheets
First, you need the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products plugin. It allows you to view and edit all your WooCommerce products in a spreadsheet. You can do advanced product searches, edit thousands of products in bulk, export and import products.
You can download the plugin here:
Download WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet Plugin - or - Check the features
Second, you need the Google Sheets Sync service. It allows you to export and import content between WordPress and Google Sheets easily. This service works with all spreadsheets from WP Sheet Editor plugin suite.
You can sign up to the service here:
Sign up to the Google Sheets Sync Service - or - Check the features
Now you need to follow the steps below:
1- Connect your WordPress site to your Google Sheets account
You will get a helper plugin to set up the Google Sheets Sync service on your WordPress site.
You can follow this guide to set everything up and connect your WordPress website to the Google API and to the WP Sheet Editor API.
2- Open the WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet
To view and manage your WooCommerce products in a spreadsheet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products.
You’ll see all your products displayed in a spreadsheet where every row is a product and every column is a field.
3- Select the products you want to export (optional)
If you want to export all your WooCommerce products, you can skip this section.
The WooCommerce Product Spreadsheet allows you to select the content you are going to export to Google Sheets.
With the “Search” tool, you can apply search filters based on your WooCommerce product fields.
This way, you can use any field of your WooCommerce products as a search filter.
In addition, it allows you to manually select the products you want to export.
Let’s take a look at each of these options.
a) Search for the products you’ll export
To search for all the products you want to export to Google Sheets, you need to open the Search tool.
The Search tool allows you to find products using any field as a search parameter.
In this example, we will find all the products that belong to the Premium T-shirts Category and whose Regular Price is equal to or higher than $100.
Once you run the search, you will see all the products that match the search filters displayed on the spreadsheet. You’ll see all the active seach filters above the spreadsheet.
b) Manually select the products you’ll export
Optionally, you can manually select specific products to export.
For this you need to use the Checkbox picker that is on the left side of the spreadsheet.
4- Export your WooCommerce products to Google Sheets directly
Once you’re ready to export your WooCommerce products to Google Sheets, you need to open the Export tool on the products spreadsheet.
Now you need to select these values to export your WooCommerce products to Google Sheets:
- What columns do you want to export: You have three options here:
- Type column names to select specific columns
- Select all the active columns
- Select all columns (including visible and hidden columns).
- Which rows do you want to export: You have two options here:
- All the rows from my current search: Select this option if you have run a search or if you want to export all your products without having run a specific search.
- Rows that I selected manually with the checkbox: Select this option if you have manually selected the products you want to export.
- What app will you use to edit this file: Google Sheets
- Name of this export: You can add a name for this export, but this is optional.
- Once you’re ready, click on Start new export.
By doing this, a new Google Sheet will be created in your Google account, which will contain all the information you selected for this export.
Optional – Update an existing Google Sheet
If you have previously exported your WooCommerce products to Google Sheets, you can select a previously exported Google Sheet to add the data to instead of creating a new Google Sheet.
You just have to tick the Advanced Google Sheets options and choose the Google Sheet in Select an existing Google Sheet below.
When the process is finished, you will be able to open the new Google Sheet by clicking on View Google Sheet.
And in this screenshot you can see that a new Google Sheet was generated in our Google account. This Google Sheet contains all the information of our WooCommerce products.
