WooCommerce – How to Import Products from Google Sheets Directly

In this tutorial, we will show you how to import WooCommerce Products from Google Sheets directly.

We’re not talking about downloading a Google Sheets CSV file and then importing it from your computer to your WordPress website.

We are talking about directly connecting your WordPress website to your Google Sheets account and importing a Google Sheet file to your website.

And the best thing is that you can do it without having to install browser extensions or running complicated scripts.

Required plugin and service

To import WooCommerce products from Google Sheets, you need two elements in addition to the WooCommerce plugin.

First, you need the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products plugin.

This plugin allows you to save a lot of time managing your WooCommerce products, because you can view and edit thousands of products and variations in a spreadsheet within WordPress. You can do advanced searches, bulk changes, import and export products with a few clicks.

Second, you need the Google Sheets Sync service.

This is a service provided by wpsheeteditor.com that allows you to sync your WordPress website with your Google Sheets account to easily export and import content. It works with all WP Sheet Editor plugin spreadsheets running on the backend, so you can automate imports and exports for any post type and taxonomy.

You can sign up to the service here:

Follow the steps below to import WooCommerce products directly from a Google Sheet.

1- Connect your WordPress site to Google Sheets

The first thing you need to do to be able to export and import WooCommerce products between your WordPress website and your Google Sheets account is to connect your website with the Google API and the WP Sheet Editor API.

You can do this using the helper plugin that you will receive when you sign up to our Google Sheets Sync service.

You can follow this guide.

2- Prepare your Google Sheet with WooCommerce products

It is important to note that our Google Sheets Sync service will only read the files in your Google Sheets account that have been created with our service itself.

This means we don’t have access to other files in your Google account, not even to other Google Sheets files.

We don’t store any data from the content of your Google Sheets, so you can be sure that your privacy is well taken care of.

This has a practical implication for importing products from Google Sheets to WooCommerce: You’ll need to first export at least one product from WooCommerce to Google Sheets in order for us to import that file you previously exported.

You can add new products or edit existing products, but it must be a file generated with our service, or else we won’t be able to import.

Here’s a tutorial on how to do immediate exports from WooCommerce to Google Sheets.
