How to Bulk Delete WordPress Post Comments

Step 1. Search for the comments you’ll remove

You can do this with the Search tool.

Here are some examples of how you can search for your WordPress post comments.

Search example 1 – Filter all post comments

Once you open the Search tool, you can find all post comments to bulk remove them.

For this, you need to select these values:

• Post type: Posts (post)
• Comment type: Comment
• Click on Run search.

After running the search, you’ll see all the post comments displayed on the spreadsheet.

Now you can go to the next step.

Search example 2 – Filter all pending post comments

If you want to remove the pending posts only, you need to select these values in the Search tool:

• Post type: Posts (post)
• Comment status: Pending
• Comment type: Comment
• Click on Run search.

After running the search, you’ll see all the post comments with the Pending moderation status displayed on the spreadsheet.

Step 2. Bulk remove WordPress post comments

After filtering the post comments you want to remove in bulk, you need to open the Bulk Edit tool.

Now you need to select these values to run a bulk removal process on your post comments:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
• What field do you want to edit: Status
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Delete completely
• Click on Execute now.

After running this bulk edit process, all the selected post comments will be removed from your WordPress site.
