WordPress – Search Posts without Images in the Content

Images can be a great way to help your readers rest a little. Posts full of characters and without any images can be exhausting for your readers’ sight. However, if you have thousands of posts, it may be somewhat difficult to find all the posts without images in their content.

And not only that. WordPress doesn’t contain any tool to help you find posts in that way. That’s why we want to show you how to quickly find all posts without images in their content. It’s something really simple to do. You will just need to follow some simple steps, and you’ll save a lot of time.

As you know, normally you would have to spend long hours opening and checking all your posts one by one. But now we want to show you how to find them at once and see them on a spreadsheet where you can apply changes in seconds.

1- Install the “Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types Spreadsheet” plugin

This plugin is like no other plugin out there. It displays your posts on a spreadsheet, but that spreadsheet is not just to see your posts, pages, or custom post types information, but you can edit it in seconds. Every change you apply on the spreadsheet will be immediately applied to the posts.

The plugin contains an advanced Search tool that will allow you to quickly find all your posts without images in their content.

Once installed, you need to open the plugin by going to Sheet Editor > Edit Posts.

2- Open the “Search” tool to filter your posts

The Search tool will help you filter all your posts in seconds. You don’t need to open and check them one by one. Just use some simple values and filter all your posts.

3- Filter your posts without images in their content

Once opened the Search tool, you need to tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox and select these values.

  • Field key: Content
  • Operator: NOT CONTAINS
  • Value: image

Finally, click on Run search to filter all your posts without images in their content.

4- See all your posts without images in their content on the spreadsheet

After using these simple search terms, you’ll see all your posts without images in their content displayed on the spreadsheet. You can quickly apply any changes you wish on the spreadsheet or using the Bulk Edit tool.

As you can see, that was really simple! You don’t have to spend hours trying to identify which of your posts don’t have any images in their content.
