In this tutorial, we will show you how to export post types created with the Custom Post Type UI plugin to Google Sheets.

You will see how to easily connect your WordPress site to your Google Sheets account, in order to export any custom post type to a Google Sheets file.
For this, we will use the WP Sheet Editor – Post Types plugin. It allows you to view and manage posts, pages and custom post types added by third party plugins, using an intuitive spreadsheet on the WordPress admin dashboard.
In this case, it will allow you to view and manage any post type that you’ve created with the Custom Post Type UI plugin.

Besides, we will use the Google Sheet Sync service, which is provided by wpsheeteditor.com, and allows you to export and import your WordPress content with Google Sheets.

After installing both plugins, you need to follow the steps below to export Custom Post Type UI content to Google Sheets.
1- Generate your Custom Post Type UI spreadsheet
To view any post type created with Custom Post Type UI in a spreadsheet, you need to first generate the spreadsheet.
- Go to WP Sheet Editor > Setup spreadsheet.
- Select the post type you want to view in the spreadsheet.
- Click on Save.
In this case, we have created a post type called “Deals”.
Now you need to select which columns (fields) you want to view in the spreadsheet.
If you don’t want to view a specific column in the spreadsheet, you can move it from the Enabled to the Disabled side.
Once you’re ready, click on Save.
With these two steps, you’ll generate a spreadsheet for your selected custom post type. Every column is a field and every row is a post.
2- Connect WordPress to Google Sheets
The Google Sheets Sync service will provide you with a helper plugin that will allow you to connect your WordPress site to your Google account, the Google API, and the WP Sheet Editor API.

3- Export Custom Post Type UI to Google Sheets
Now that we have generated the spreadsheet for our post type generated with Custom Post Type UI, we can proceed to export it.
To export hundreds of posts to Google Sheets, let’s start by clicking on the Export tool.
Now let’s select these values to export to Google Sheets:
- What columns do you want to export: You can export specific columns, all active columns, or all columns.
- Which rows do you want to export: In this case, we will export all the posts.
- What app will you use to edit this file: Select the Google Sheets app.
- Add a name for this export, and the Google Sheet that will be generated with inherit that name.
- Finally, click on Start new export.
Once the export process is completed, you’ll see the View Google Sheet link. You need to click on it to open the Google Sheet file that has been generated with this export.
As you can see in the screenshot below, we have exported our Custom Post Type UI to Google Sheets.
