The Iconic Show Single Variations plugin is an excellent tool for improving your store’s user experience. By allowing customers to see specific variations directly in the catalog or search results, you remove friction from the buying process.
However, configuring these visibility settings becomes a significant data entry bottleneck if you have a large product catalog. Natively, WooCommerce requires you to open each variable product individually, click the Variations tab, expand every single variation, locate the specific Show Single Variations checkboxes, update them, and save the product. Repeating this for hundreds of variations is inefficient and prone to errors.
In this guide, you will learn how to bulk edit all Iconic Show Single Variations settings directly from a spreadsheet interface inside WordPress, eliminating the need to open products one by one.

Prerequisites for Bulk Editing
To follow this workflow, you need to connect your WooCommerce catalog to the spreadsheet editor and install the compatibility bridge for the Iconic plugin.
1. Install WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products
This plugin replaces the default WooCommerce product list with an editable spreadsheet, allowing you to manage variations directly.
You can download the plugin here:
Download WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet Plugin – or – Check the features
2. Install the WP Sheet Editor – Iconic Show Single Variations Extension
This free add-on ensures the spreadsheet automatically detects and correctly formats the custom fields generated by the Iconic plugin.
Once both plugins are active, navigate to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products to access your catalog.
How are Show Single Variations settings displayed in the spreadsheet?
The extension maps the Iconic plugin’s settings as dedicated columns in your spreadsheet. Each relevant column is clearly identified with an SSV: prefix. You will see the following fields displayed as checkboxes or text values:
- SSV: Show in Search Results
- SSV: Show in Filtered Results
- SSV: Show in Catalog
- SSV: Listings Only
- SSV: Disable Add to Cart
Workflow Tip: If your spreadsheet has too many columns, use the Columns Manager on the top toolbar to hide unrelated fields (like shipping dimensions or tax classes) so you can focus strictly on the SSV visibility settings.
How do I manually update Show Single Variations settings?
If you only need to update a handful of specific variations, you can edit them manually without opening the standard WooCommerce product editor.
First, you need to expose the variations in the spreadsheet. By default, WP Sheet Editor displays parent products. Click the Display Variations button on the top toolbar.
This action expands your variable products, displaying each variation as its own row directly below the parent item.
Now, simply scroll across to the SSV columns. You can tick the checkboxes to enable a setting or untick them to disable it. Because you are working in a spreadsheet, you can quickly move down the rows and apply changes. Once finished, click the Save button to commit all updates simultaneously.
How to search and filter specific variations for bulk editing
If you need to update hundreds of variations (e.g., only hiding “Small” sizes from the catalog, or disabling Add to Cart for a specific category), manual editing is not practical. You need to isolate these variations first using the Search tool.
Open the Search tool located on the toolbar.
Configure your search parameters to target the exact variations you want to modify:
- Contains keyword: Target specific words in the title (e.g., “Red” or “Clearance”).
- Enter product category, attribute, or tag: Filter down to specific groups (e.g., the “Clothing” category or the “Size: Large” attribute).
- Search on variations: Tick this checkbox to ensure the tool searches the child variations, not just parent products.
- Click Run Search.
The spreadsheet will refresh, displaying only the product variations that match your exact criteria. You can verify the active filters by looking at the tags above the data grid.
How to bulk update Show Single Variations settings
With your targeted variations isolated on the screen, you can now apply massive changes using the Bulk Edit tool. You can apply the change to all filtered results, or use the checkbox picker on the far left column to manually select a subset of the filtered rows.
Click to open the Bulk Edit tool.
Below are the specific configurations for the five most common bulk actions regarding Iconic Show Single Variations.
a) Bulk enable or disable “Show in Catalog”
To control whether variations appear as individual products in your main shop loop, configure the Bulk Edit tool as follows:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: SSV: Show in Catalog
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter yes to enable, or no to disable.
- Click Execute Now.
b) Bulk manage “Show in Filtered Results”
To dictate whether these variations should surface when customers use layered navigation filters:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: SSV: Show in Filtered Results
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter yes or no.
- Click Execute Now.
c) Bulk display variations in “Search Results”
To allow customers to find these specific variations when using your store’s native search bar:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: SSV: Show in Search Results
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter yes.
- Click Execute Now.
d) Bulk enable “Listings Only”
If you want the variations to appear in your catalog loops but prevent users from clicking through to a dedicated single variation page, enable the Listings Only mode:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: SSV: Listings Only
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter yes.
- Click Execute Now.
e) Bulk disable “Add to Cart” for specific variations
In some workflows, you may display a variation in the catalog purely for visual context, but you require the customer to configure the parent product before purchasing. In this scenario, disable the add to cart button:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: SSV: Disable Add to Cart
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter yes.
- Click Execute Now.
Advanced Variation Visibility Management
Managing catalog visibility for complex variable products does not have to compromise your productivity. By bypassing the native WordPress product editor and utilizing a spreadsheet interface, you maintain full control over your layout logic while cutting your administrative time down significantly.
If you prefer to manage these visibility rules outside of WordPress (such as sending a list to a team member or updating your catalog offline), you can also execute this entire process via CSV. Learn how in our guide: Export or import Show Single Variations settings.
