LearnPress – How to Bulk Delete Courses by Author

In this post, we’ll show you how to delete all LearnPress courses created by a specific author. This is useful when a course teacher is the same person who creates the courses in LearnPress, and he’s not working with you anymore. In that case, the courses he taught won’t be available on your site anymore.

Therefore, you need to search for all the courses created by that person and delete them all. Of course, you’d normally have to delete them manually one by one. But here we show you the ultimate way to delete courses by the author.

First, you need to install WP Sheet Editor.

Once you install and activate WP Sheet Editor, follow these easy steps to delete LearnPress courses by the author.

1- Set up the LearnPress courses spreadsheet

• Go to WP Sheet Editor > Setup Spreadsheet.
• Select the Courses post type.
• Click Save to go on.

Select the columns to display in the spreadsheet.

• In Enabled, you’ll see all the columns to be displayed in the spreadsheet.
• In Disabled, you’ll see the columns that will be hidden in the spreadsheet.
• Scroll down and click Save to generate the spreadsheet.

You’ll see the spreadsheet containing all your LearnPress courses. Each row is a course and each column is a field.

2- Search for LearnPress courses by author

Before deleting the courses in bulk, we need to select which courses we want to delete. If not, the bulk changes will affect all our courses, and in this case, all courses will be deleted permanently! Therefore, we need to select the courses created by a specific author only.

Start by opening the Search tool with one click.

Once you open the Search tool, you need to select the following values to search for all courses by a specific author.

• Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
• Field: Author
• Operator: =
• Value: Enter the authors’ ID. In this case, it’s 5.
• Click Run Search to filter all the courses created by the selected author.

After that, all the courses created by the selected author will be displayed in the spreadsheet.

Now you’re ready to proceed to delete all the selected courses.

3- Remove LearnPress courses directly in the spreadsheet

You can delete or trash LearnPress courses individually directly in the spreadsheet. To do this, just go to the status column and select the delete completely or trash option for all the courses you want to delete.

Once you are done, just save the changes.

4- Trash LearnPress courses by author

Another option to remove your LearnPress courses by author is to send them to the trash can. To do this, you will use the Bulk edit tool.

Once the bulk edit is open, you’ll have to select the following values:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
• What field do you want to edit: Status
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Trash
• Click Execute Now.

5- Bulk delete LearnPress courses by author

You can completely delete all the filtered/selected items by applying the bulk edit manually, or you can use our automatic bulk deletion by hovering over Bulk Edit and clicking the Delete option.

Once the Bulk Edit tool opens, click Execute Now.

With this option, you don’t need to manually select the values to apply; just take into account the items will be removed completely.

You can also apply the changes manually. Just open the Bulk Edit tool and select the following values:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
• What field do you want to edit: Status
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Delete completely
• Click Execute Now.

As you see, you can easily delete all LearnPress courses by a specific author with WP Sheet Editor. You can view and edit your courses as if you were in Excel or Google Sheets, so you can save a lot of time without having to open lots of tabs.
