When you edit using WP Sheet Editor and save any change, they are saved in your database directly. For example, when you edit 10 cells and click on “save changes”, we save the 10 cells in the database directly; or when you bulk edit 10,000 rows at once, or when you delete 100 rows.
We don’t have any option to undo or restore any previous state on your site. WP Sheet Editor is a powerful tool but it will do what you ask it to do, so you have to be careful. We have the following recommendations to ensure that you’re always safe:
1- Make a backup of your site
Creating a backup or restore point of your site can save you a lot of headaches, that way, in case something doesn’t go as expected, you can simply restore your site to the latest backup point. There are several plugins you can use to backup your sites, like BlogVault, BackupBuddy, Jetpack or UpdraftPlus.
2- Export a CSV file before making changes
If you don’t want to use a plugin to backup, you could use our export tool on our plugin to get a CSV file with all your spreadsheet data. This is a less reliable method because, although our plugin can export the data and you can import it back using our plugin, it will only include the columns recognized by our plugin.
