WooCommerce – Bulk Edit YaySwatches using a Spreadsheet

In this guide, you’ll learn how to bulk edit variation swatches from the YaySwatches – Variation Swatches for WooCommerce plugin.

We’ll use the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products plugin, which allows you to manage all your products and variations using an intuitive spreadsheet inside WordPress.

The spreadsheet will display a set of columns for each attribute for you to configure the attribute swatches.

These columns will have a name with this format: Field type: Attribute ID : Terms : Term ID : Field

You can edit the variation swatches using the spreadsheet, just as you do it with Excel or Google Sheets.

But in this tutorial, we’ll see how to bulk edit the swatches.

Bulk display the swatches in the “Shop / Categories” page

Let’s see an example of how to bulk edit the Display on Shop / Categories page field.

First, let’s search for all the variable products using the Search tool.

Let’s select the following values to filter all the variable products in our WooCommerce store:

• Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox
• Now select these values in the advanced filter:
  • Field: Type (product_type)
  • Operator: =
  • Value: variable
• Click on Run search.

Note – You can combine this search with other fields to find variable products by price, keyword, attributes, etc.

You’ll see all the variable products displayed in the spreadsheet, and the search filter applied above the spreadsheet.

Now let’s open the Bulk Edit tool to edit the Display on Shop / Categories page field in bulk:

Select the following values in the Bulk Edit tool.

• Select the rows that you want to update: You can edit all the rows from the current search or edit the rows that you manually selected in the spreadsheet.
• What field do you want to edit: In this example, we will edit this field: “Yay Swatches Product Attributes : 0 : Show Archive Page”
• Select type of edit: We’ll select “Set value”
• Replace existing value with this value: The column accepts these values:
  • default
  • display
  • dont_display
  • We’ll select “display”
• Click on Execute Now.

Bulk edit the swatch “Type”

If you want to bulk edit the Type field, you can select these values:

• Select the rows that you want to update: You can edit all the rows from the current search or edit the rows that you manually selected in the spreadsheet.
• What field do you want to edit: Yay Swatches Product Attributes : 0 : Type
• Select type of edit: We’ll select “Set value”
• Replace existing value with this value: The column accepts these values:
  • default
  • custom
  • automated
  • button
• Click on Execute Now.
