Editing products one by one in WooCommerce works fine, until your store grows. When you’re managing 200, 500, or even 5,000+ products, manual editing becomes slow, repetitive, and risky. Updating prices after a supplier change, scheduling a seasonal sale, fixing stock issues, or cleaning up product data can take hours… sometimes days.
WooCommerce’s default bulk editor simply isn’t built for scale. It offers limited filtering, struggles with variations, and doesn’t handle custom fields or complex updates efficiently. As your catalog grows, these limitations turn into serious bottlenecks.
The scalable solution is spreadsheet-based bulk editing with WP Sheet Editor.
Instead of opening products one at a time, you manage everything inside a spreadsheet-style interface, similar to Excel or Google Sheets. You can filter products by category, attribute, stock status, custom field, price range, or any combination — then update thousands of rows in seconds.
This plugin is designed for:
- WooCommerce stores with 100–50,000 products
- Agencies managing multiple client stores
- Wholesale and B2B stores with complex pricing
- Store owners handling migrations or supplier updates
- Teams that need speed, control, and accuracy
If you’re ready to manage your WooCommerce store like a structured database instead of a collection of manual forms, you’re in the right place.

What is bulk editing in WooCommerce?
Bulk editing in WooCommerce means updating multiple products at the same time instead of editing them one by one. If you’ve ever needed to increase prices across an entire category, update stock for hundreds of SKUs, change sale dates, fix product descriptions, or modify variations, you already understand the pain point. Opening each product individually is slow, repetitive, and highly inefficient.
Bulk editing solves that problem by allowing you to apply changes to many products simultaneously — safely and with precision.
What WooCommerce allows by default
WooCommerce includes a basic bulk edit feature inside the Products list table. You can select multiple products and apply limited changes, such as:
- Changing product status (published, draft)
- Updating categories or tags
- Adjusting simple price fields
- Modifying stock status
While useful for small stores, this native feature has serious limitations:
- No advanced filtering (e.g., price range + category + attribute combinations)
- No full spreadsheet view of products
- Very limited support for variations
- No editing of most custom fields or third-party plugin data
- No easy percentage-based or formula-driven updates
As your catalog expands, these restrictions become operational bottlenecks — especially when managing large inventories, complex pricing models, or variable products.
Why spreadsheet-based bulk editing is different
Spreadsheet-based bulk editing with WP Sheet Editor transforms your WooCommerce product data into a structured grid of rows and columns — just like Excel or Google Sheets — but directly inside your WordPress dashboard.
Each product becomes a row. Each field — price, stock, SKU, attributes, custom fields, SEO data, and more — becomes a column.
From there, you can:
- Edit hundreds or thousands of products from a single screen
- Use advanced filters to precisely target which products to modify
- Apply percentage increases or formula-based updates
- Edit product variations inline next to their parent products
- Modify custom fields and third-party plugin data
- Perform search-and-replace operations across your entire catalog
Instead of thinking in terms of “editing products,” you begin thinking in terms of “editing structured data.” That shift dramatically increases speed, control, and accuracy when managing large WooCommerce stores.
| Feature | Native WooCommerce Editor | WP Sheet Editor |
|---|---|---|
| Field Availability | Limited fields available | Edit any product field |
| Filtering Capabilities | No advanced filtering | Advanced multi-condition filters |
| Variation Management | Difficult variation management | Variations displayed inline |
| Bulk Updates | Manual repetitive updates | Mass updates with a few clicks |
| Scalability | Not scalable for large stores | Built for 1,000–50,000+ products |
In short, bulk editing in WooCommerce with WP Sheet Editor is not just about speed — it’s about control, scalability, and managing your store as structured data instead of individual product pages.

Let’s see how different fields are displayed on the spreadsheet.
a) Number fields (regular price, sale price, stock, etc.)
All number fields such as regular price, sale price, stock, and others accept numbers.
b) Dropdown fields (status, stock status, etc.)
All fields showing selectable options are displayed as drop-down fields.
c) Upload file fields (featured image, product gallery, etc.)
The file fields allow you to upload images, videos, documents, etc. You can upload files from your computer, select them from the media library, or paste the URLs of the files by double-clicking them.
If you click on the Upload button, will be able to upload files or select them from the media library.
d) Text editor fields (description)
Text editor fields such as TinyMCE editor will allow you to add plain text by double-clicking, or add formatted text using the editor that will open in the popup when you click edit.
This is the text editor popup that allows you to add formatted text.
e) Date fields (date created, date modified)
Date fields will display a calendar and time selector.
f) Checkbox fields (sold individually, virtual, etc.)
Checkbox fields will display the checkbox for you to select any value (Yes/No).
g) Taxonomy fields (category, tag, attributes like size, color, brand, etc.)
Taxonomy plugins such as categories, tags, attributes (color, size, brand, etc.), or custom taxonomies added with third-party plugins, allow you to easily select terms. Just start typing, and the term suggestions will be displayed. You can select taxonomies with one click as well.
