WooCommerce – Search for Top-rated or Lowest-rated Products

In the world of e-commerce, social proof is one of the most powerful tools for driving conversions, yet many store owners struggle to effectively manage their customer feedback data. If you want to boost sales, identifying your top-rated WooCommerce products allows you to showcase your most trusted items in marketing campaigns or on your homepage. Conversely, searching for your lowest-rated products is a critical part of quality control and inventory management, helping you identify problematic stock that may need to be discontinued or improved.

In this guide, we will show you how to perform a comprehensive review audit by filtering your products by average star rating using a fast spreadsheet interface, allowing you to make data-driven decisions to optimize your WooCommerce catalog performance.

Manually checking every product page to see which items have the best or worst reviews is impossible once your store grows beyond a few dozen items. The default WooCommerce dashboard provides limited options for sorting by rating, and it certainly doesn’t allow you to filter thousands of products based on specific star-rating thresholds. This makes it difficult to generate reports on product satisfaction levels or to perform bulk inventory cleanup based on poor user feedback.

To overcome these limitations, we will use WP Sheet Editor. This plugin provides a professional spreadsheet view where you can filter products by average rating, bulk edit product details, and manage your entire inventory. It is the most efficient way to perform a user feedback analysis and keep your product quality at the highest level.

Note: You can skip the installation step if you already have the plugin installed and activated.

1. Open the WooCommerce Product Spreadsheet

The first step in your review management workflow is to open the spreadsheet view. This interface allows you to see all your products, which is much more effective for comparative analysis than clicking through individual WordPress editor screens.

Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit products to launch the spreadsheet. You will see a comprehensive list of all your products, variations, and their associated metadata.

2. Identify the Average Rating Column

To manage your store’s social proof effectively, you need to see the raw data. The spreadsheet includes an “Average rating” column. This column is the key to identifying your highest-rated inventory or spotting items that are currently suffering from low customer satisfaction. Instead of digging through the “Reviews” tab for every item, you can see the performance of your entire catalog at a glance.

3. Use the Advanced Search Tool to Filter by Stars

The Search tool is the most efficient way to perform a product rating audit. It allows you to set specific numerical operators to find products that fall within a certain range, which is perfect for filtering by star rating.

Click the Search button on the toolbar to open the filtering window, where you can configure your customer review filters.

Option 1 – Search for Top-Rated Products (High Satisfaction)

If you are planning a “Customer Favorites” campaign or want to bulk export your best-rated products to a third-party platform, you should filter for items with high scores. These are the products that generate the most trust and have the highest social proof value.

In the Search tool, configure these settings:

  • Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
  • Field: Average rating
  • Operator: >= (Greater than or equal to)
  • Value: 4 (This will find all 4 and 5-star products).
  • Click on Run search.

The spreadsheet will now display your best-selling, highly-reviewed items. You can use this filtered list to add these products to a “Featured” category or apply bulk updates to their pricing or descriptions.

Option 2 – Search for Lowest-Rated Products (Quality Issues)

Finding your worst-rated products is essential for WooCommerce quality assurance. Items with 1, 2, or 3-star averages usually indicate a problem, either with the product itself, the shipping process, or a disconnect between the description and the reality. Identifying these allows you to bulk discontinue poor stock or investigate the cause of the negative feedback.

To find these items, set the Search tool to:

  • Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
  • Field: Average rating
  • Operator: <= (Less than or equal to)
  • Value: 3
  • Click on Run search.

The spreadsheet will now display all products with poor customer reviews. This makes it easy to bulk delete products with bad reputations or change their visibility status so they no longer appear in your shop’s front-end while you address the issues.

Use this data to refine your inventory, improve customer satisfaction, and build a more profitable online store.
