Learn how to improve your sales on poor-selling WooCommerce products.
Let’s face it! Sometimes it’s hard to sell some products and that’s a problem because the more time the products stay without getting sold, the fewer possibilities we have to sell them out.
It gets even worse when we have hundreds of products with poor sales.
Knowing which products are poor sellers is crucial to any e-commerce business.
If you’re starting up, it’s difficult to know whether a product is selling well or poorly.
However, in this article, we want to show you four easy tips you can take into account to improve sales on those poor-selling products by using WP Sheet Editor.
Install WP Sheet Editor

Open the Spreadsheet
WP Sheet Editor shows you all your products and their information on its spreadsheet, which helps you locate your products in a simpler way than the normal WP editor.

1. Filter all low-selling products
To be able to edit only the products that are selling poorly in your WooCommerce store, you need to filter them using the Search tool.
So we must open it from the plugin toolbar.
Now, you need to set these values to find your low-selling products:
- Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox and use these values:
- Field key: Total Sales
- Operator: <
- Value: 10, to search the products with less than 10 sales.
- Click on Run search to filter your products.
2. Bulk edit poor selling products to improve sales
Now that we have found all the products with fewer sales, we can edit the fields we want in bulk.
To do this, we are going to open the Bulk Edit tool.
a) Reduce prices by 30% on low-selling products
One of the best options to get products sold is to apply a discount on those products.
For example, you may want to reduce their price by 30%. For this, you need to enter the following values in the Bulk Edit tool:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Regular price
- Select type of edit: Decrease by a percentage
- Decrease by: 30, for example
- Click on Execute now.
b) Add a message to the product titles saying, “- On sale!”
Another way option to improve sales in products with low sales is to append a message to their titles.
For example, you may add a message like – On Sale! So if you want to do this, just enter these values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Title
- Select type of edit: Append
- Replace existing value with this value: – On sale!
- Click on Execute now.
c) Add a message to the product descriptions inviting people to buy
Besides applying discounts and adding a message to the product’s title, you can add a message to their descriptions.
It’s really important not to lose any opportunity to promote your products so that they get sold.
If you want to add this message, you just need to enter the values as we show below:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Short description
- Select type of edit: Append
- Replace existing value with this value: – Get 30%OFF for a limited time!
- Click on Execute now.
d) Feature low-selling products on the catalog
One last modification we suggest for you to improve your product sales is to feature them on the product catalog.
You can do this by selecting the following values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Is featured?
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Tick this checkbox
- Click on Execute now.
e) Enable product reviews
Allowing customers to post reviews of your products helps instill confidence in undecided shoppers.
In fact, it is known that 82% of consumers consult reviews and ratings before buying something for the first time.
So to enable reviews on your bulk products, you must enter the following values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Enable reviews
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Tick the checkbox
- Click on Execute now.
f) Add the least sold products to up-sell and cross-sell of your best-selling products
You can leverage the success of your best-selling products to promote some similar but lesser-selling products.
This can do wonders for your business.
To accomplish this, you should follow the steps below:
Optional step: Filter your low-selling products by keyword, category, attribute, or tag.
If you want to offer products that are related by keyword, category, attribute or tag, in the up-sell and cross-sell of your best-selling products, you need to filter them.
For this, we will show you an example using the Search tool.
When the tool is open, you will enter the values depending on the search you want to perform.
- If you want to search for a specific word, you must enter it in the “Contains keyword” field.
- Otherwise, use the taxonomy field to enter the category, attribute, or tag (as we did in the screenshot below)
- Then enable the advanced filters, and use the following values:
- Field key: Total Sales
- Operator: <
- Value: 10, to search the products with less than 10 sales.
- Click on Run search to filter your products.
1- Make a list of your low-selling products’ SKUs or IDs
To make this list, you can export the information to a CSV file using the Export tool.
Once the tool is open, enter the values as shown below:
- What columns do you want to export?: Enter the ID, Name, and SKU columns
- Which rows do you want to export?: All the rows from my current search
- What app will you use to edit this file? (optional): Select any of the options
- Click on Start new export.
2- Filter your best-selling products

3- Enter SKUs or IDs of low-selling products
For this, you will use the Bulk Edit tool.
After the tool is open, enter the following values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Select Upsells or Cross-sells
- Select type of edit: Set random value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter the IDs to SKUs separated by a vertical bar |
- Click on Execute now.
