You need two plugins for this: WooCommerce Memberships and WordPress Users Spreadsheet
- WooCommerce Memberships allows you to create membership plans in WooCommerce to restrict and sell your content and products to specific users. This is a great way to increase your revenue but giving exclusive access to members.
WordPress Users Spreadsheet
Use an intuitive spreadsheet inside WordPress to:
- Do advanced searches with a few clicks
- Bulk Edit any of your user profiles
- Export users to Excel or Google Sheets
- Import users from Excel or Google Sheets
- Bulk edit fields generated from other plugins
- And a lot of things!
You can download the plugin here:

Once you install and activate the WordPress Users Spreadsheet plugin, you need to follow these simple steps to bulk modify the user membership plans.
1- Open the users’ spreadsheet
To open the users’ spreadsheet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Users.
You’ll see all your user profiles displayed in the spreadsheet. Every user profile will be a row and every user profile field will be a column.
If you right-scroll, you’ll see all the WooCommerce Memberships’ fields displayed as columns. Since there can be users with more than one membership plan active, the spreadsheet displays a set of columns for each membership. The number of sets will depend on how many membership plans you have available.
Each set of columns contains these columns:
- Membership #: Name
- Membership #: Status
- Membership #: Start Date
- Membership #: End Date
2- Bulk edit your user plans quickly
In the following drop-down sections, we show you how to bulk modify user plans with just a few clicks.
How to move users between membership plans
Let’s say you want to move all the users from the Basic to the Medium membership plan. You need two things:
First, you need to search for all the users with the Basic membership plan active:
a) Open the Search tool with one click.
b) Select these values to search for the users with the Basic membership plan active:
- Active membership plan: Basic
- Click Run Search to filter all users with the selected membership plan active.
Once the users with the Basic membership plan active have been filtered, they will be displayed in the spreadsheet.
c) Open the Bulk Edit tool with one click.
d) Select these values to move all the selected users to another membership plan.
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
- What field do you want to edit: Membership 1: Name
- Select the type of edit: Set value
- Replace the existing value with this value: Medium. Here you decide which membership plan you’ll move your users into.
- Click Execute Now.
After applying these values, all the selected users will be moved into the selected membership plan.
How to cancel membership plans in bulk
Let’s cancel membership plans for selected users. This is something we may need to do when users are not respecting the terms of the membership and sharing our content with others who have not paid for it.
We’ll use the checkbox picker to select all the users we’ll edit.
After selecting the users whose membership plan will be canceled, let’s open the Bulk Edit tool with one click.
Now select these values to change the membership status for all the selected users:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows that I selected manually in the spreadsheet.
- What field do you want to edit: Membership 1: Status
- Select the type of edit: Set value
- Replace the existing value with this value: Cancelled
- Click Execute Now.
After that, the membership plan of all the selected users will be canceled. Simple as that!
How to bulk edit membership start date
Let’s change the membership start date for selected users. For example, if we want to search for all users whose start date is January 1st, 2020 and change it to February 1st, 2020, we just need to do the following.
First, select all the users for whom you will change the start date of their membership.
The spreadsheet allows you to sort the rows using any column. For example, if you go to the Membership 1: Start Date column, you can click the column on the top and the rows will be sort using the dates.
Once the rows are ordered by the start date, tick the rows you’ll edit using the checkbox picker on the left side of the spreadsheet.
We’ll select all users whose membership plan started January 31st, 2020.
Now let’s open the Bulk Edit tool.
Finally, select these values to select a new start date for all the selected users.
- Select the rows that you want to edit: Edit all the rows that I selected manually in the spreadsheet
- What field do you want to edit: Membership 1: Start Date
- Select the type of edit: Set value
- Replace the existing value with this value: Enter the new start date and time using the YY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS format. For example, if you want the start date to be February 1st, 2020 at 12 o’clock, enter 2020-02-01 12:00:00.
- Click Execute Now.
After you select and apply these values, the start date and time will be set for all the selected users.
How to bulk update membership end date
To select a new end date for selected users, you need to take some simple steps.
First, select all the users you’ll update. The spreadsheet allows you to sort the rows using any column. For example, if you go to the Membership 1: End Date column, you can click the column on the top and the rows will be sort using the dates.
Once the rows are ordered by the end date, tick the rows you’ll modify using the checkbox picker on the left side of the spreadsheet.
We’ll select all users whose membership plan ends May 31st, 2020.
Now let’s open the Bulk Edit tool.
Finally, select these values to select a new date for all the selected users.
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows that I selected manually in the spreadsheet.
- What field do you want to edit: Membership 1: End Date
- Select the type of edit: Set value
- Replace the existing value with this value: Enter the new end date and time using the YY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS format. For example, if you want the end date to be June 31st, 2020 at 12 o’clock, enter 2020-06-31 12:00:00.
- Click Execute Now.
