Sometimes it’s good to update your products’ date references. It’s important because when customers see that your products were uploaded three years ago for example, they tend to think your product is old.
However, we know that it can turn really difficult to find them, especially if you have thousands of products.
That’s why in this tutorial we’re going to show you how easy it is to find your products with old year references and replace them from product descriptions.

When you open the plugin, you can see a spreadsheet with all your products and their complete information.
1- Find old year references
The first step to replace all old year references in your product descriptions is to find them using WP Sheet Editor’s search tool. That way you make sure you’re not changing all of your products year references, but only the ones you wish.
a) Open the “Bulk Edit” tool.
This tool helps you to make changes to thousands of products with a few clicks. It’s really important because with this tool you won’t have to be making changes to products one by one.
b) Filter your products.
For this you need to select the I want to search rows to update option in the Select the rows that you want to update dropdown.
c) Look for the keyword “2016”
In this case, you’re going to look for 2016 to choose only the ones that have that year reference.
- Enter 2016 in the Contains category field
- Click on Run search
2- Replace the year reference
To replace the old year reference from your product descriptions, you need to set these values.
- Select the rows that you want to update: I want to search rows to update
- What field do you want to edit: Short description
- Select type of edit: Replace
- Replace this: 2016
- With this: 2019
