WordPress Download Monitor – CSV Importer and Exporter

Once you install and activate the plugin, follow these steps in order to learn how to export and import Download Monitor downloads with WP Sheet Editor.

1- Set up the downloads spreadsheet

• Go to WP Sheet Editor > Setup spreadsheet.
• Select the Downloads post type.
• Click Save to go on.

Now select the columns that you want to display in the spreadsheet and which columns you want to hide.

• Enabled: All visible columns.
• Disable: All hidden columns.
• Click Save to go on.

After that, you’ll see all the downloads displayed in the spreadsheet. Every row is a download and every column is a field.

2- How to export Download Monitor downloads to a CSV file

To export the downloads to a CSV file to edit with Excel or Google Sheets, you need to open the Export tool with one click. It’s on the top toolbar.

Now you need to configure the export. For that, select these values in the Export tool.

• What columns do you want to export: Click Select Active Columns.
• Tick the I understand it will export all the rows from my current search checkbox.
• What app will you use to edit this file? (optional): Select any of the available options.
• Name of this export (optional): Save these settings for future exports.
• Click Start New Export to download the CSV file.

Once you do this, all the downloads will be downloaded to your computer in a CSV file that you can open the Excel or Google Sheets.

3- Edit the downloads with Excel or Google Sheets

Once the CSV file has been downloaded to your computer, you can open it with Excel or Google Sheets. You can edit the existing downloads and create new downloads using the columns in the CSV.

As you see in this screenshot, we’ve edited some values in the existing downloads, so we’re ready to import the downloads to WordPress.

4- Import Download monitor downloads from a CSV file

To import Download Monitor downloads to WordPress, you need to start by opening the Import tool with one click; it’s on the top toolbar.

Once you open the Import tool, select the CSV you’ll upload:

• Source: CSV file from my computer
• CSV File: Click Choose File and select the CSV from your computer.
• Click Next.

Now click Import all the columns to go on.

Now configure the import:

• Do you want to update or create items: Create new items and update existing items
• CSV Field: record_id
• WordPress Field: ID
• Click Next.

Finally, you’ll see a preview of how the information will look imported. If everything is OK, click The preview is fine, start import.

Once the import process is finished, you’ll see the information of your downloads updated in the spreadsheet.
