In this post, we show you how to easily sort WordPress pages, no matter how many they are.
Normally, you would have to edit the page order manually in wp-admin, and that would take a lot of time.
You would have to open each page and change the page Order for each page in the Page Attributes dialog box.
However, here we’ll learn how to edit the Order field without having to open the pages one at a time.
We’ll do it using an intuitive spreadsheet inside WordPress to edit the field, just as we do in Excel or Google Sheets.
To be able to save a lot of time and edit hundreds of pages with just a few clicks, you just need to follow these simple steps:
1- Install the Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types Spreadsheet plugin
Use an intuitive spreadsheet inside WordPress to:
- Do advanced searches with a few clicks
- Bulk edit posts, pages, or custom post types
- Export posts, pages, or custom post types to Excel or Google Sheets
- Import posts, pages, or custom post types from Excel or Google Sheets
- Bulk edit fields generated by other plugins
- And a lot of things!

2- Open the pages spreadsheet
To open the pages’ spreadsheet, you need to go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Pages.
You’ll see every page displayed as a row on the spreadsheet and every page field displayed as a column.
3- Sort the pages and add the order number
By clicking on the Name column label, you can reorder the pages alphabetically from A to Z or from Z to A.
Just click on it, and you’ll see how the pages sort in the spreadsheet.
a) Sort WordPress pages alphabetically
For example, if you want to organize the WordPress pages from A to Z, you can then proceed to add the order number on the Order column.
Once you do that, click Save to apply the changes.
b) Sort WordPress pages randomly
If you don’t want to sort order the WordPress pages alphabetically, and instead you want to add the order numbers as you consider they will be best organized, you just need to go to the Order column and enter the numbers.
Finally, just click Save to apply the changes.
That’s really simple!
As you can see, with the WP Sheet Editor plugin you can sort WordPress pages in the way works better for you, without having to open the pages one by one to apply changes.
And the best part is that you can do this and many other changes in bulk or individually directly on the spreadsheet.
