In this guide, we’ll explain how the scheduled jobs popup of the WP Sheet Editor – Automations add-on and the Google Sheets Sync helper plugin works.
When you schedule an export, import, save cells or bulk edit job for a future date and time, you will see a link to view the details of the scheduled tasks.
If you open that link, you will see a popup that shows all the details of the scheduled jobs.
First, you’ll see these columns on the left:
- Name: This is name you assigned to this scheduled job.
- Status:
- Scheduled: This status means that the job is scheduled for a future date and time and it will be executed automatically in the future. When recurring jobs are awaiting the next run, they will have the “scheduled” status.
- In progress: This status means that the job is running at this moment and processing all its related batches.
- Completed: This status means that the job was successfully executed and it won’t run again. If this is a real-time sync, the first full run has been completed, and now it’s listening and monitoring for new changes. This status does not apply to recurring jobs because recurring jobs start with the “Scheduled” status, then change to “In Progress” when the tasks is ongoing, and finally revert to “Scheduled” status waiting for the next recurring run.
- Archived: This means that you won’t use this job for anything. It’s archived for historical purposes only, and you can delete it once you no longer need to review its log.
- Paused: This status means that this job has been temporarily paused and removed from the schedule. This job will not run on its originally scheduled date, but you can resume it later. If the original date has not passed yet, this job will execute on the original date if you resume it. However, if the original date already passed, it will be rescheduled to run at the time you resume it. If you pause the job during a batch, the current batch will continue to be processed. However, the next batch will not be processed until you resume the job.
- Cancelled: This status means that the process has been stopped completely. If the process was in progress, the next batch won’t be executed. If the process was finished and waiting for the next recurring date when you cancelled it, it won’t start again. You can still see and download the log.
- Recurring: If this job is recurring, you will see the recurrence at which it should be run (Every 15 minutes, Every 2 days, etc.) If it is not recurring, it will simply say “No”.
- Created: This is the date you created the job, using the timezone of the website.
- Previous run: This column displays the last run of a recurring job or the date and time of a one-time job run.
- Next run: This column shows the date and time when a recurring interval will run for recurring jobs, or the date and time when a one-time job will run.
You’ll also see some Actions on the right:
- View log: Click on this button to view this job’s log. You’ll see all the details of the job, you’ll see what’s happening every few seconds, and you’ll be able to Download the log file.
- Run next batch: Click on this button to run the next batch right now. If the process is in progress, this will run the next batch right now, and the other batches will be rescheduled relative to this batch until the process finishes. However, the future recurring dates won’t be rescheduled, and they will still use the original dates.
