This tutorial is about how to edit bulk user membership plans created with Paid Memberships Pro, using an intuitive spreadsheet that shows you all your user profile information in WordPress and allows you to edit it as if you were in Excel or Google Sheets.
You no longer have to worry about opening and editing users one by one in WordPress because you can use a powerful bulk editor that allows you to apply changes to hundreds of users with a few clicks.
You’ll need to have previously created membership levels in Paid Memberships Pro. This tutorial will show you to assign the membership plans to thousands of users at once using the WordPress Users Spreadsheet plugin.
Note. This tutorial works with all the membership plugins for WordPress including Paid Membership Pro (PMPRO), Restrict Content Pro, Members, etc. We will focus on Paid Memberships Pro as an example.

After installing the plugin, you need to download and install the WP Sheet Editor – Paid Membership Pro extension, which will give you full compatibility between WP Sheet Editor and Paid Membership Pro. This means every Paid Membership Pro field will appear in the spreadsheet according to its field type.
Now, follow these steps to bulk edit user membership plans.
1- Open the Users Spreadsheet
Go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Users.
You’ll see a spreadsheet containing all your user profiles. Every row is a user-profile and every column is a field.
If you right-scroll in the spreadsheet, you can see the fields created by Paid Memberships Pro.
2- Select the users you’ll edit
The plugin allows you to select hundreds of users to apply changes to all of them at once using the Bulk Edit tool.
a) If you open the Search tool, you can filter the posts by role, email, login, etc.
b) You can select the user profiles you want to edit using the checkbox picker.
3- Bulk edit the membership plan for all the selected users
Once you select the rows you’ll edit, open the Bulk Edit tool with one click.
Here are some examples of how to bulk edit the user membership plans.
a) How to assign a membership plan to all the selected users
This is useful if you want to add memberships to your users manually.
- Select the rows that you want to update: This will depend on how you selected the rows to edit.
- What field do you want to edit: PMPRO Current Level
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Select the membership level to assign to the selected users. Basic for example.
- Click Execute Now.
b) How to move users from one membership level to another
This is useful if you want to migrate all the selected users from the basic to the pro membership, for example.
- Select the rows that you want to update: This will depend on how you selected the rows to edit.
- What field do you want to edit: PMPRO Current Level
- Select type of edit: Replace
- Replace this: Select the membership level you’ll remove. Basic for example.
- With this: Select the membership level you’ll add. Pro for example.
- Click Execute Now.
c) How to remove membership plan from the selected users
This is really useful when you want to cancel the membership of all the selected users.
- Select the rows that you want to update: This will depend on how you selected the rows to edit.
- What field do you want to edit: PMPRO Current Level
- Select type of edit: Replace
- Replace this: Select the membership level you’ll delete. Basic, for example.
- With this: (empty)
- Click Execute Now.
