WooCommerce – Add Message to Product Descriptions in Bulk

Learn how to add a promotional message at the beginning of each description of your WooCommerce products.

Promotions are great for increasing sales, and sometimes you want to append a promotion message to your product descriptions.

For example, you may want to append a message like “30%OFF Plus Free Shipping” to your products’ descriptions.

Normally, you can use the WC editor to make those changes, but it would take you lots of hours to update a complete category containing 200 products, for example.

So in this article, we’ll show you how you can append a promotional message to your product descriptions.

1. Install WP Sheet Editor

WP Sheet Editor provides a Products Spreadsheet where you can see all the product information and edit freely.

You can skip this step if you already have the plugin installed and activated.

This spreadsheet shows you the products and their detailed information.

2. Filter your products by keyword, category, attribute, tag, etc.

After the spreadsheet is ready, you need to open the Search tool located in the toolbar.

Once the tool is open, you can easily filter your products by keyword, status, category, attribute, tag, etc. as we show you in the sections below:

a) Find products by keyword

If you need to filter your products by keyword, you can do it with the Search tool.

Just enter the values as follows:

• Contains keyword: Enter the keyword you’re looking for.
• Then hit Run search.

Once the products have been filtered by the selected keyword, they will be displayed in the spreadsheet in the following way:

b) Filter all product variations by category, attribute, or tag

In this example, we’ll find all the products from the Shoes category by entering the following values:

• Enter the product category in the taxonomies field
• And hit Run Search.

After the plugin has filtered the products by the selected category, the results will be displayed.

c) Search for products by attribute

Now we will show you how to search your WooCommerce products by attribute.

For example, let’s say we’re looking for products with the attribute Black.

To do this, we will enter the following values in the Search tool:

• Enter the product attribute in the taxonomies field
• And hit Run Search.

Once all the products with the attribute “black” are found, they will be displayed in the spreadsheet.

d) Find products by price

Let’s say you need to delete all products priced at $19.99.

To do this, you can simply enter the following values in the Search tool:

• Enable advanced filters checkbox
• Field: Regular price (_regular_price)
• Operator: =
• Value: Enter the price you want to search for
• Finally, Run the search.

After executing the search, you’ll see all the products with the price entered displayed.

IMPORTANT: You can combine your search. For example, you can search products by keyword, category, and attribute altogether.

3- Add the message to product descriptions

Once you’ve filtered your products, use these values to append a message to your product descriptions:

• What field do you want to edit: Select either Short description or Content.
• Select the type of edit: Append
• Enter the value to append to the existing value: Add the message, leaving a space before the text
• Click on Execute now.
