Let’s see how to bulk upload product galleries in WooCommerce.
This can be very useful when you have lots and lots of products in your WooCommerce store that lack product galleries. It can also be useful for changing the product galleries on hundreds of products, renewing them or updating them.
However, WooCommerce itself does not offer you tools that make it easy to upload product galleries. If you want to do it the normal way, you must open the products one by one, upload one gallery at a time, and repeat the process as many times as you need.
Just imagine you have a hundred or a thousand products to which you want to upload photo galleries. This will take you many hours of work.
Luckily, WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products allows you to view and manage your WooCommerce products in an intuitive spreadsheet.
In this case, it will allow us to add product galleries to hundreds or thousands of products with a few clicks.

After installing the plugin and activating your license, you need to follow the steps below in order to bulk add photo galleries to your WooCommerce products.
Open the products’ spreadsheet
Go to Sheet Editor > Edit products, and you will see a spreadsheet that contains all your products with all their information.
Option 1 – Upload product galleries individually with the spreadsheet
The first way to upload product galleries in bulk is to do it individually.
To do this, go to the “Product gallery” column.
Once there, you can click on the “Upload” button, or paste the URLs of the images you want to add to the product gallery, separating them with commas.
If you click on the Upload button, you’ll open the Add media popup, which will allow you to upload the images or select them from the media library.
Once you have uploaded the product galleries to all the products you want to edit, you need to click on Save to apply the changes.
Option 2 – Upload photo galleries in bulk
If you want to upload product galleries to hundreds of products at a time, you have the option to put the same gallery to all the products in a search, all the products you select manually, or all the products in your store.
Let’s see how to upload the same gallery to all the products from a specific search.
To do this, let’s open the Search tool.
In this example, we will search for all the products containing the “t-shirt” keyword in the title. These products must belong to the “Clothing” category and have no product galleries.
To do this, you need to select the following values in the Search tool:
- Contains keyword: Enter the keyword here.
- Enter product categories: Enter the category here.
- Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
- Field: Product gallery
- Operator: =
- Value: Leave this field empty.
- Click on Run search.
Once you run the search, you’ll see all the products matching the search terms displayed in the spreadsheet. You’ll also see the active search filters displayed above the spreadsheet.
Optional – You can upload image galleries to all filtered products individually using the spreadsheet. Just move to the Product gallery column and upload / select the images, or paste the URLs separating them with commas.
If you want to upload the same product gallery to all the selected products, you need to start by opening the Bulk Edit tool. It allows you to bulk edit any field on hundreds of products.
Once you open the Bulk Edit tool, you need to select the following values to bulk upload photo gallery:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search.
- What field do you want to edit: Product gallery
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Now you have these two options to upload the photos:
- Click on Upload the files and upload the images from your computer or select them from the media library.
- Paste the URLs separated by commas. These images should be from your own site.
- Optional – You can Edit only parent products or Edit only variations.
- Click on Execute Now.
Option 3 – Bulk import product galleries from CSV
If you don’t want to add the galleries individually, but you also don’t want to add the same gallery to all products, there is a great way to upload galleries in bulk: import WooCommerce product galleries from a CSV file.
In order to import product image galleries from a CSV file, you need to have a CSV file containing at least the following columns: ID, Name, Product gallery.
As you can see, we have a CSV file in Excel that contains the URLs of the images that we want to add to the gallery of our products.
Once you have your CSV ready to import, you need to open the Import tool.
Select the CSV file from your computer by selecting these values in the Import CSV tool:
- Source: CSV file from my computer
- Click on Choose file and locate the CSV you want to import.
- Click on Next.
Match the columns in the CSV file with the columns / fields in WP Sheet Editor:
- record_id = ID
- Name = Name
- Product gallery = Images
Once you’ve mapped the columns, click on Next.
Select how you want to import the data:
- Do you want to update or create items: Update existing items, ignore new items.
- CSV Field: record_id
- WordPress field: ID
- Click on Next.
Finally, you’ll see a preview. If everything is OK, you need to click on The preview is fine, start import.
After the import process is complete, you’ll see that the data has been added to the Product gallery column. Now your product galleries have been added to the products.
As you can see, uploading image galleries to lots of WooCommerce products is really easy with Sheet Editor. You can upload product galleries individually as if you were doing it with Excel or Google Sheets, but on WordPress. You can also upload image galleries in bulk, or bulk import product galleries from a CSV file.
