WooCommerce – Bulk Delete Duplicate Variations – NO CODE

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to bulk delete duplicate variations in WooCommerce. Maybe you’ve been told that you have to use some code snippet in order to bulk remove duplicate variations, but here we will show you a method to delete all duplicate variations without any code needed.

You just have to follow the steps in the sections below in order to bulk eliminate all the duplicate variations from all variable products.

1- Install WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products

This plugin helps you manage your WooCommerce store, editing hundreds of products in a beautiful spreadsheet.

You can skip this step if you have the plugin installed and activated.

When you open the plugin, you’ll see a spreadsheet with all your products and their complete information.

2- Open the products’ spreadsheet

To open the WooCommerce product spreadsheet, you need to go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit products.

You’ll see all your WooCommerce products displayed on the spreadsheet. Every row is a product and every column is a field.

3- Search for the products you will edit (optional)

If you want to edit all products to delete duplicate variations of all your WooCommerce products, you can skip this step.

But if you want to remove duplicate variations by keyword, category, attribute, or using any other parameter, you can use the Search tool.

In this example, we want to delete duplicate variations from all the t-shirts that belong in the clothing category.

To do this, we need to select the following values in the Search tool:

• Contains keyword: Add the desired keyword here.
• Enter product categories: Add the desired category here.
• Tick the Search on variations checkbox.
• Click on Run search.

We have filtered all products with the keyword “tee” and the category “clothing”.

Also, since we checked the “Search on variations” checkbox in the search, the variations are displayed next to their parent products.

As you can see, our products have some duplicate variations, so we will proceed to remove all duplicate variations from all filtered products. Of these duplicate variations, we will leave only one, either the newest or the oldest.

4- Bulk delete the duplicate variations

To remove all duplicate variations of all products, we need to open the Bulk Edit tool.

Now you need to select the following values in the Bulk Edit tool in order to bulk remove all the duplicate variations:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
• What field do you want to edit: Title
• Select type of edit: Remove duplicates
• Which duplicates do you want to delete: You can select any of these options:
  • Delete the newest items and keep the oldest
  • Delete the oldest items and keep the newest
• Select the Edit only variations option.
• Click on Execute Now.

After running the bulk edit, all duplicate variations will be removed.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the product contains no duplicate variations.

As you can see, it’s really easy to delete duplicate product variations with WP Sheet Edit.
