WooCommerce – How to Bulk Delete Product Galleries

Let’s learn how to bulk delete WooCommerce product galleries.

Removing the product galleries in WooCommerce can have many uses:

• Your client asks you to delete galleries from specific products.
• You want to delete product galleries from products within the “Fashion” category.
• You want to delete galleries from all the blue small jeans.
• Remove galleries from all the products containing the “Shoes” keyword.

But how can you remove product galleries if you have 500 products within the Fashion category?

Or how do you delete photo galleries from all the Shoes or all the blue small jeans?

You can try to do remove the galleries by opening and editing the products one by one, but it will take you many hours or even days.

Fortunately, in this post we will show you how to delete photo galleries from many products at once by filtering by category, keyword, or attribute.

To do this, we will use the WP Sheet Editor plugin, which provides a Products Spreadsheet where you can see all the product information and edit freely.

You can skip this step if you already have the plugin installed and activated.

After installing the plugin and activating your license, you need to follow the steps below in order to bulk remove product galleries in WooCommerce.

Open the products spreadsheet

To open the products’ spreadsheet, you need to go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit products.

You’ll see all your WooCommerce products displayed on the spreadsheet. Every row is a product and every column is a field.

Option 1 – Delete product galleries using the spreadsheet

The first option to remove photo galleries from your WooCommerce products is to use the spreadsheet.

To do this, you need to go to the “Product gallery” column and delete the cell values.

Once you have removed the photo galleries from all the products you want, you need to click on Save to apply the changes.

This is really useful if you want to remove specific product galleries.

It’s much easier than doing it with WooCommerce, because you don’t have to open each product and edit one at a time.

You just delete the cell values in the Product gallery column and save the changes.

It is much faster.

Option 2 – Bulk delete product galleries

The second option is to massively eliminate product galleries.

For example, you may want to delete the galleries of all products in your store, or you may want to delete the galleries of an entire gallery.

Whatever the case, we want to show you how to delete photo galleries in bulk for hundreds of products.

Let’s start by searching for the products we want to edit.

To do this, let’s open the Search tool.

In this example, we will edit all the products within the Clothing category.

To do this, we need to select these values in the Search tool:

• Enter the desired category in the Enter product categories field.
• Click on Run search.

After filtering the products by category, you will see all the products matching the search terms displayed in the spreadsheet.

Now you need to open the Bulk Edit tool.

Select these values in the Bulk Edit tool in order to remove the photo galleries from all the filtered/selected products:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
• What field do you want to edit: Product gallery
• Select the type of edit: Clear value
• You can edit parent products only or edit variations only.
• Click on Execute now.

As you can see below, we have cleared the values of the “Product gallery” column, which means that we have removed the URLs of the images that made up the gallery of each product.
