Bulk Edit “Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce” Fields

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to view and bulk edit checkout fields that we have added with the Checkout Field Editor (Checkout Manager) for WooCommerce plugin by ThemeHigh. We will also see how to export checkout fields added with that plugin. It’s great to send reports to your team, make backups of your WooCommerce orders, etc.

We will use the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Orders plugin. It allows you to view and manage WooCommerce orders in an intuitive spreadsheet.

Something great is that it allows you to view all fields added by custom checkout fields plugins like Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce.

After installing and activating WP Sheet Editor, you can follow the sections below to learn how to search for orders based on Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields, bulk edit Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields, and export the information to a CSV file.

How to view Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields in the spreadsheet

To open the orders spreadsheeet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Orders on the WordPress dashboard.

Alternative: Go to WooCommerce > Orders and click on Open in a spreadsheet.

You’ll see all your WooCommerce orders displayed in the spreadsheet. Every row is an order, and every column is a field.

As you can see in the screenshot below, we have added four checkout fields using the Checkout Field Editor (Checkout Manager) for WooCommerce plugin:

These fields will be automatically displayed in the spreadsheet, but if you can’t see the fields in the spreadsheet, you can click on Settings > Scan DB to find fields.

How to use Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields as search filters

You can use any field of your orders as a search filter to search for specific orders in the spreadsheet.

This includes the checkout fields added with the Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce plugin.

For example, we have created a custom checkout field called Delivery Date, and we’ll use it as a search filter to find orders that need to be delivered on March 31, 2023.

Just open the Search tool.

Now we need to select the following values to filter your orders based on Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields:

  • Tick the Enable advanced fields checkbox.
  • Field: Select the custom checkout field you want to use as a search filter. In this case, we’ll select the Delivery Date field.
  • Operator: Select the operator you want to use. In this case, we’ll use =
  • Value: Now enter the value you want to find in the cells. In this case, we’ll select the delivery date.
  • Click on Run search.

As you can see in the screenshot below, we have used a field created with the Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce plugin to find all the orders by delivery date:

How to bulk edit Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce fields

There are two ways to go about bulk editing custom checkout fields on your orders.

For example, let’s say you have created a custom checkout field for delivery dates, and you want to change the delivery date of some WooCommerce orders.

You can do it individually or using the bulk editor.

To edit custom checkout fields individually in the spreadsheet, you need to follow these three simple steps:

  1. Click on Enable editing
  2. Move to the column (custom checkout field) you want to edit, and edit all the orders you want. For example, in the screenshot below, you can see we’re editing delivery dates.
  3. Once you’re done applying all the changes, click on Save. This is great because you can apply hundreds of changes and save once.

The Bulk Edit tool allows you to bulk update values in hundreds of orders at once.

This is really useful, for example, to change delivery dates, delivery time, billing country, etc.

In this example, we will bulk edit the delivery date field in all our filtered WooCommerce orders.

Once in the Bulk Edit tool, we need to select the following values:

  • Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
  • What field do you want to edit: Here you need to select the custom checkout field added with Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce. In this example, we will select the “Delivery Date” field.
  • Select type of edit: Edit value
  • Replace existing value with this value: Select the value you want to set for all the selected orders. In this case, we will select a new delivery date.
  • Click on Execute now.

WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Orders allows you to download a CSV file with all your orders’ information. You can select which orders you want to export, and which order fields you want to include in the export.

In this example, we will export a CSV file containing all the custom checkout fields we have added to our site using the Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce plugin.

We just need to open the Export tool.

Now we need to select these values to export custom checkout fields to Excel, Google Sheets or other CSV editors:

  • What columns do you want to export: Here, you can select all the columns (fields) you want to include in the export. In this case, we will select the custom checkout fields added with Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce.
  • Which rows do you want to export: You can export all the rows, all the rows that you manually select, or all the search results.
  • What app will you use to edit this file: In this case, we will select Microsoft Excel, but you can select Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel 365, etc.
  • Optional checkbox – Export every product (line item) as separate rows
  • Once you configure the export, click on Start new export.
