WooCommerce – How to Delete Photo Galleries Quickly

Sometimes you may want to delete products galleries from specific products. For example your client may ask you to delete product galleries from products within the “Fashion” category or to delete galleries from all the blue small jeans. Even more, he can ask you to delete galleries to all the products containing the “Shoes” keyword.

How do you do it if you have five hundred products within the Fashion category? How do you delete galleries to all the Shoes or to all the blue small jeans? You can do it one by one but it will take you many hours or even days.

In this article we’ll show you how you can delete galleries to many products at once by filtering by category, keyword, or attribute.

1- Install the Sheet Editor Plugin

WP Sheet Editor provides a Products Spreadsheet where you can see all the product information and you can edit freely.

2- Setup the WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet

The setup is easy and it only takes 2 minutes. Please follow this tutorial for the quick setup.

3- Open the Sheet Editor Plugin

Once you open the plugin, you’ll see a spreadsheet with all your products and all their details.

4- Delete galleries from all products within a category

The first way we want to show you is to delete galleries to all the products within a specific category.

For this, you need to use the “Apply changes in bulk” tool. This tool allows you to make changes to a lot of products by filtering them by category, keyword, attribute, tag, etc.

To open it, just click it in the spreadsheet.

Then, hit the “Select rows” button. This button opens a search tool that will help you filter your products to apply changes only to the products you choose.

Once there, you need to write the category name. For example, we can look for the “Technology” category, so just write “Technology” in the field.

Then, just hit the Run search button.

After that, you need to set the new values.

  • Check the “I understand it will update the posts from my search” checkbox.
  • Look for the “Gallery” column in the field you want to edit.
  • Select “replace” in the “type of edit” you want to make
  • In the next field, paste the URLs of the images you want to delete. These are the ones that will be replaced.
  • Leave the next field empty because the gallery will be replaced with an empty value.
  • Hit the “Execute now” button.

  • Open the “Apply changes in bulk” tool.
  • Hit the “Select rows” button
  • Write the product’s keyword in the “Contains keyword” field. In this example, we’ll look for the products with the “Jeans” keyword.
  • Hit the “Run search” button.

Set the new values.

  • Check the “I understand it will update the posts from my search” checkbox.
  • Look for the “Gallery” column in the field you want to edit.
  • Select the “type of edit” you want to make, in this case, it’s “Replace”.
  • In the next field, paste the URLs of the images you want to delete. These are the ones that will be replaced.
  • Leve the next field empty. You must leave it empty because the gallery will be replaced with an empty value.
  • Hit the “Execute now” button.
  • Done!

  • Open the “Apply changes in bulk” tool.
  • Hit the “Select rows” button
  • Write the product’s attribute. For example, you can look for the Blue Jeans. So, look for the “Jeans” keyword and then look for the “blue” attribute.
  • Hit the Run search button.

Set the new values.

  • Check the “I understand it will update the posts from my search” checkbox.
  • Look for the “Gallery” column in the field you want to edit.
  • Select the “type of edit” you want to make, in this case, it’s “Replace”.
  • In the next field, paste the URLs of the images you want to delete. These are the ones that will be replaced.
  • Leave the next field empty. You must leave it empty because the gallery will be replaced with an empty value.
  • If you want to delete galleries from product variations, select the checkbox “execute on variations only”.
  • Hit the “Execute now” button.
  • Done!
