WooCommerce – Disable Product Reviews in Bulk

Sometimes your client may ask you to stop getting product reviews in some of his products.

For example, he may ask you to disable product reviews for the e-books, for the yellow shirts or for the smartphones.

So how do you do it? How do you disable the reviews on all the e-books if you have two hundred of them? How do you disable product reviews to five hundred T-Shirts?

In this article we show you how to disable product reviews by product keyword, category, or attribute.

1- Install WP Sheet Editor

3- Open the Sheet Editor Plugin

Once you open the sheet editor plugin, you’ll see all your products and their information.

4- Bulk disable product reviews to all products containing a keyword

To disable your product reviews by keyword, you need to use the “Bulk Edit” tool.

This tool helps you to apply changes to all your products or to specific groups of products.

In this case, it will help you modify all products containing a specific keyword.

Once you open the Bulk Edit tool, select the “I want to search rows to update” option in the “Select the rows that you want to update” dropdown.

This tool will help you filter your products to select the ones you need. You can filter the products by keyword, category, attribute, tag, etc.

Look for your product’s keyword.

For example, if you want to modify all the smartphones, you just need to write “Smartphone” in the “Contains keyword” field.

Then, hit the “Run search” button.

After you’ve filtered your products, you need to set the values that will help you disable the product reviews.

For this, you need to follow these steps:

• What field do you want to edit: Enable reviews
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Leave it unchecked.
• Click on Execute now.

5- Disable product reviews in products filtered by vendor

If you want to disable product reviews to all products from the same vendor, the first step is to open the Bulk edit tool.

Once you open the Bulk Edit tool, select the “I want to search rows to update” option in the “Select the rows that you want to update” dropdown.

This will open the search tool, where you can look for the vendor by following the steps below:

• Enable advanced filters
• Field: Vendor (post_author)
• Operator: =
• Value: Enter the vendor’s name you’re looking for

After you have entered the values, click on Run search.

After that, you’ll be redirected back to the Bulk edit tool, where you’ll need to enter the following values:

• What field do you want to edit: Enable reviews
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Leave it unchecked.
• Click on Execute now.

6- Disable product reviews to all products within a category

If you want to disable the product reviews to the products in the “Fashion” category, open the Bulk Edit tool.

Once you open the Bulk Edit tool, select the “I want to search rows to update” option in the “Select the rows that you want to update” dropdown.

Then, look for the category you want.

For example, you can look for the Fashion category just by writing “Fashion” in the “Enter Product category” field.

Then hit the “Run search” button.

After that, just set the new values.

• What field do you want to edit: Enable reviews
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Leave it unchecked.
• Click on Execute now.

7- Disable product reviews to all product containing a specific attribute

Imagine your client has asked you to disable the product reviews for the small black T-Shirts.

For this, open the Bulk Edit tool.

Once you open the Bulk Edit tool, select the “I want to search rows to update” option in the “Select the rows that you want to update” dropdown.

For example, you can look for all the Small Black T-Shirts by writing the keyword and its attributes, or you can look for the attributes only.

You do this by writing the attribute or attributes in the “Enter Product attribute” field.

Then, enter the “Run search” button.

Set the new values

• What field do you want to edit: Enable reviews
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Leave it unchecked.
• Click on Execute now.
