WooCommerce – How to Find and Edit Products with Low Stock

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to find and edit WooCommerce products with low stock.

When your client asks you to give him a report of what products have low stock, you can face a serious problem if you have hundreds or thousands of products to check.

When that happens, you cannot filter your products with the normal WP editor because it doesn’t give you a proper search tool to filter all of them with just a few clicks. It could take you lots of hours or days to find all those low-stock products.

That’s why in this article we’ll show you how to easily and quickly find and edit low-stock products in your WooCommerce tool.

1. Install WP Sheet Editor

You can skip this step if you have the plugin installed and activated.

Open the plugin at Sheet Editor > Edit Products, and you’ll see a spreadsheet containing all your products and their complete information.

2. Find WooCommerce products with low stock

To find all your WooCommerce low-stock products, you need to use the “Search” tool to look for them.

a) Filter all WooCommerce products with low stock

For example, you can look for products with a stock of less than 10.

After opening the “Search” tool, you need to enable the advanced filters, which will help you find your products with low stock.

You need to set these values to look for the products with low stock:

• Write “Stock” as the Field
• Choose the “less than” Operator
• Write “10” in the Value field
• Hit the Run search button.

b) Look for all products with low stock by keyword

This is another way to find your products with low stock. For example, you can find all the products with the “Shirt” keyword.

After opening the “Search” tool, you need to write the product keyword in the Contains keyword field.

Then you need to enable the advanced filters to open the necessary fields to find the products with low stock.

• Field: Write “Stock”
• Operator: Choose the “less than” sign
• Value: Write “10” for example
• Hit the Run search button.

c) Search for products with low stock by category, attribute, or tag

Another important way to find your products with low stock is to filter them by category, attribute, or tag.

With WP Sheet Editor, it’s really easy to do it because it gives you the opportunity to find your products in those three ways by using the same field.

So after opening the “Search” tool, you need to write the product attribute, category, or tag in the “Enter product category…” field.

After that, you need to enable the advanced filters to open the fields you’ll need to find the products with low stock.

• Field: Write “Stock”
• Operator: Choose the “less than” sign
• Value: Write “10” for example
• Hit the Run search button.

3. Edit the stock of your WooCommerce products

Once you’ve found all the low-stock products, you can apply some changes.

In the following sections, we show you two ways to do it:

a) Edit the stock of products in the spreadsheet

To change the stock amount of your products individually, you can do it directly in the spreadsheet, as you would do it from Excel or Google Sheets.

When finished, you only need to Save the changes once.

With this option, you can save a lot of time since you don’t need to open your products individually to update the stock.

b) Bulk change products’ stock

If you need to edit the stock of your products and add the same quantity to all of them, you can do it with the Bulk edit tool.

Once the tool is open, you can enter the following values:

• Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
• What field do you want to update: Stock
• Select type of edit: Set value
• Replace existing value with this value: Enter the new stock amount
• Click on Execute now

When the bulk edit is complete, you’ll see the stock of your products changed.

4. Import products’ stock from a CSV file

If you have a CSV file ready with the updated stock of your WooCommerce products, you can easily import it using the Import tool.

After the import tool is open, select the source and the file you want to import.

For this example, we’re uploading a file from the computer.

Select the columns to import.

You can either import all the columns or select individual columns to export.

Select the import option that better fits your needs.

Select the columns that will help the plugin to map the information.

Finally, you have to check that the new information is being imported correctly and start the import.

Once the import is finished, you can check that the information was correctly updated by going to the “Stock” column.
