1- Install the Media Library Spreadsheet plugin
With this plugin, you can save a lot of time because you don’t have to deal with a lot of tabs when finding and editing your files. You can filter them by date, keyword, associated post, path, format, etc., and you’ll do it completely on a spreadsheet.
You can download the plugin here: Download Media Library Spreadsheet Plugin - or - Check the features
Once installed, you need to go to Sheet Editor > Edit Media to open the spreadsheet.
2- Open the Search tool to filter your files
This tool will help you to quickly filter your media library files. Just some simple values and all your files will be filtered. To open it, just click on Search on the plugin’s toolbar.
3- Filter your media files by path
In this URL: http://labs.vegacorp.me/diego-portillo/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/ea277410771319.560eacd8d0b77.jpg, the file path would be this: 2019/07/ea277410771319.560eacd8d0b77.jpg. So you need to identify the image path to search for it.
For example, if you’re checking one of your posts and find the image you want to search for on your server, just right click + open image in a new tab, and then copy the path from the URL.
Once you have the path, tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox and use these values:
- Field key: Wp attached file
- Operator: CONTAINS
- Value: paste the file path
Now click on Add new to add a new filter.
- Field key: Format
- Operator: CONTAINS
- Value: image
- Click on Run search to filter your images and find the one with the path you selected.
Done!
With just those simple steps, you can find your images by file path. It’s really simple and you can save a lot of time.
