WordPress – Search Posts where Title Begins with a Letter

People produce lots of contents for their WordPress blogs. Generally, we write posts for WooCommerce and WordPress, but you may write about many other things. Sometimes, we tend to add the type of writing at the beginning of our titles. For example, some of your titles may have this format: “Short Story – Title” or “WooCommerce – How to…”

That’s a good way to keep your posts in order at all times. Now, if at any time you want to find all posts whose title starts with the letter S, for example, you might have some problems if you have thousands of posts to check.

That’s why we want to show you how to quickly find all posts starting with a specific letter. For this, you just need to follow some simple steps.

1- Install the “Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types Spreadsheet” plugin

With this plugin, you can save lots of hours finding and editing thousands of posts on a spreadsheet. It contains a powerful Bulk Edit and an advanced Search tool you can use.

Once installed and activated, open the plugin by going to Sheet Editor > Edit Posts.

2- Open the “Search” tool to filter your posts

This tool helps you save lots of hours because it helps you apply several search terms to find thousands of posts in seconds. Open it by clicking on Search on the plugin’s toolbar.

3- Filter your posts by their title’s initial letter

After opening the Search tool, you need to tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox. Then, select these values in order to filter all your posts by their title’s initial letter.

• Field key: Title
• Operator: STARTS WITH
• Value: Here you need to enter the posts initial letter.

Now just click on Run search to filter your posts.

4- See your search results on the spreadsheet

After these simple steps, you’ll see all your posts filtered by their initial letter and displayed on the spreadsheet.
