3- An AI API Key
You will need an active API key from a supported provider (like OpenAI, OpenRouter, or any OpenAI-compatible provider).

Step 1: Set up your AI copywriting prompt
Instead of typing instructions repeatedly, we are going to teach the AI how to write exactly like an ecommerce expert by creating a global prompt.
Go to WP Sheet Editor > AI > Settings > Prompts and click Add new.
Fill in the configuration as follows:
- Prompt Name:
Rewrite Title - Prompt Template:
You are a world-class ecommerce copywriter. I am giving you a boring product title: "$Title$". Your task is to rewrite it to be catchy, premium, and optimized for sales. Include sensory words or a key benefit if applicable. The new title MUST be under 70 characters. Return ONLY the new title. Do not include quotes, conversational text, or the original title.
- Save your settings.
The system will generate a shortcut slug for you, which will be rewrite-title.
You can use that slug as a shortcut in the spreadsheet cells by typing ai:prompt-slug; in this case, it will be ai:rewrite-title. We will use this in the next steps.
Step 2: Review and edit titles from the spreadsheet
Now, let’s look how to rewrite product titles with AI in the spreadsheet; navigate to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products.
You will see all your products laid out in the spreadsheet. Take a look at the Title column. If you spot a product name that looks weak or overly technical, you don’t even need to open the product page to fix it.
Simply click on the cell containing the bad title and type your new AI shortcut:
ai:rewrite-title
And hit Enter.
The plugin will instantly send the old title to the AI, process your strict copywriting rules, and replace the cell with a brand new, highly optimized product name.
You’ll see a loading icon in the cell while the AI is working to regenerate your product name.
Once the process is complete, you’ll see the new rewritten title.
This is perfect for quick, surgical edits while you manage your inventory.
You can also paste the shortcut into multiple cells to rewrite multiple titles at once.
Once you’re done regenerating your product names with AI, you need to Save the changes.
Step 3: How to rewrite WooCommerce titles in bulk
If your entire catalog needs a refresh, doing it cell-by-cell is still too slow. Let’s use the Bulk Edit tool to rewrite hundreds of titles simultaneously.
First, open the Bulk Edit tool from the top toolbar of your spreadsheet.
Next, configure the tool to apply our AI copywriting prompt to your products:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Choose “Edit all the rows from my current search”
- Note: You can use the Search tool beforehand if you only want to update specific categories, like “T-Shirts”.
- What field do you want to edit: Select the Name field.
- Select the type of edit: Choose AI command: Rewrite title.
- AI Provider: Select the AI model you want to use for this task; we will use GPT-4o-mini through OpenRouter.
- You can click on Preview to test the prompt and make sure the result will be the one you expect.
- Finally, click Execute Now.
