In this tutorial, we show you how to export and import Envira galleries in WordPress.
In a previous tutorial, we showed you how to bulk edit Envira galleries using a spreadsheet.
Now you will learn how to export your galleries to a CSV file.
Besides, you’ll see how to import galleries from a CSV file to update existing galleries or create new ones.
What you need to export and import Envira Galleries
First, you need the Envira Galleries plugin. It allows you to create and manage galleries in WordPress. Click here to download it.
Second, you need to install the WP Sheet Editor plugin. It allows you to manage posts, pages, directories, galleries, and any post type added by WordPress plugin using an intuitive spreadsheet.

Third, you need to install the WP Sheet Editor – Envira extension. It adds compatibility between Envira and WP Sheet Editor.
Once you install everything you need to export and import envira galleries, you can start by following the steps in the sections below.

How to export Envira galleries to a CSV file
To download your Envira galleries to a CSV file, you need to use the Export tool; you can click on it on the top toolbar.
Now you need to configure the export to select which columns you will export, which app you’ll use to open and edit the CSV, etc.
- What columns do you want to export: Select the columns here. You can export all columns, the active columns only, or specific columns.
- Which rows do you want to export: It will depend on how you selected the rows. You can manually select the rows to export, use the Search tool, or export all your rows.
- What app will you use to edit this file: You can select Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or other apps.
- Click on Start new export.
Once the export is complete, a CSV file will be downloaded to your computer.
Here’s what our Envira galleries look like in the CSV file opened with Excel or Google Sheets.
You can add new galleries, edit the existing galleries, or just save the CSV file as a backup.
How to import Envira galleries
If you have a CSV file containing new galleries, or if you have edited the existing galleries, you can import the Envira galleries to your WordPress site.
For this you need to use the Import tool, so click on it on the top toolbar.
Now you need to select these values to upload a CSV containing Envira galleries to your WordPress site:
- Source: CSV file from my computer
- CSV file: Click on Choose file and select the file on your computer.
- Click on Next.
Now click on Import all the columns to go on with the import process.
Now you need to select if you want to update or create new items:
- Do you want to update or create items: You have several options here:
- Create new items and update existing items
- Import all rows as new
- Only create new items, ignore existing items
- Update existing items, ignore new items
- Now match the items in the CSV file witht he items in WordPress.
- CSV Field: record_id
- WordPress Field: ID
- Click on Next.
Finally, you’ll see a preview of what the info will look like once it’s imported.
If everything is OK, click on The preview is fine, start import.
Exporting and importing Envira galleries is a great way to get backups of your galleries, create new galleries from a CSV file, or update lots of galleries in bulk by uploading the CSV file.
