In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to edit product swatches created with the WooCommerce Attribute Swatches plugin by Iconic WP. We’ll edit swatches in hundreds of products using an intuitive spreadsheet that allows you to save a lot of time.
Note. This tutorial also works with other WooCommerce Swatches plugins. It’s not exclusive to Iconic’s plugin.
As you know, every time you want to select swatches types or every time you want to disable tooltips, you must open a product, apply the changes, and save the updates. This process must be repeated for each of your products. However, this doesn’t sound very encouraging if you have a thousand products in your shop and want to edit them all.
That is why we have created WooCommerce Products Spreadsheet. With this WordPress plugin, you can view and edit all your products in an intuitive spreadsheet. You can quickly filter products by keyword, attribute, category, etc. You can also bulk edit any field of your products with just a few clicks.

3- Open the products spreadsheet
To view and edit the products in the spreadsheet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products. You’ll see all the products displayed as rows and their fields as columns.
If you right-scroll, you’ll see the WooCommerce Attribute Swatches fields displayed as columns. Something great is that the fields will be displayed according to their types: dropdown fields, checkbox fields, number fields, simple text fields, etc.
4- Search for the products you’ll edit
The Search tool allows you to filter your products by keyword, category, attribute, tag, price, date, etc. Open it with one click on it on the top toolbar.
In this example, we’ll show you how to filter all the red shirts. For that, we need to select the following values:
- Contains keyword: Shirt
- Enter Tags: Red ( Product Color )
- Click Run Search to filter all the red shirts.
Once you select these fields, you’ll see all the red shirts displayed in the spreadsheet.
5- Open the “Bulk Edit” tool
Once you’ve filtered your products, you need to open the Bulk Edit tool with one click on it. It’s on the toolbar.
6- Bulk edit your product swatches
We show you different examples on how to bulk edit your product swatches in the following drop-down sections.
a) How to change the swatch type in bulk
To change the swatch type in all the selected products, you need to select these values:

- What field do you want to edit: Swatches: Color: Type
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Image swatch, for example.
- Click Execute Now.
b) How to enable/disable tooltips in bulk
These are the values you need to select in order to enable/disable tooltips for all the filtered products:

c) How to set an image for a swatch color
We’ve filtered all the red shirts, and now we’ll set an image for the red swatch in all the filtered shirts. These are the values we need to enter:
- Select all the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
- What field do you want to edit: Swatches: Color: Values: Red: Value
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Enter the new image URL. Preferably, a URL from your server.
- Click Execute Now.
d) How to bulk edit swatches’ width and height
By default, the swatch sizes are 30*30 px. However, we want to bulk edit width and height and set 40*40 px. For that, we need to select these values:
- Select all the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows)
- What field do you want to edit: We need to select the Swatches: Color: Size: Width and also the Swatches: Color: Size: Height fields.
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: 40
- Click Execute Now.
A piece of cake!
Here’s how the four bulk changes will look in the spreadsheet once we apply them. Notice that the swatch image doesn’t show the image URL but the image ID.
