Bulk Mark “Visible on the product page” for WooCommerce Attributes

Time is money when running an online store. If you manage a WooCommerce catalog with hundreds or thousands of products, spending hours doing repetitive manual data entry translates directly into lost revenue. One of the most common and tedious tasks store owners face is trying to activate the “Visible on the product page” option for their product attributes.

The Problem with Default WooCommerce Attributes

Whether you sell electronics, clothing, or custom jewelry, displaying attributes (like Brand, Material, Color, or Dimensions) in the “Additional Information” tab is vital for your customers. It helps them make informed purchasing decisions and improves your store’s SEO by adding rich, relevant keywords to your product pages.

However, if you forgot to check the “Visible on the product page” box during a CSV import or when manually creating products, WooCommerce forces you into a frustrating process to fix it. You have to open each product individually, navigate to the Attributes tab, expand the attribute, check the visibility box, save the attribute, and update the product. Repeating this for thousands of items is simply not feasible.

Fortunately, we have the ultimate solution to bypass this dilemma. We will show you exactly how to bulk enable the “Is visible” option for all your WooCommerce product attributes at once.

The Solution: WP Sheet Editor

To safely mass update our database, we will use the WP Sheet Editor – WooCommerce Products plugin. This is a powerful, time-saving tool that displays your entire WooCommerce catalog in an intuive spreadsheet. You can use its advanced “Search” tool to filter thousands of products, and its “Bulk Edit” tool to apply massive structural changes with just a few clicks.

Once the plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress site, navigate to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Products to load your inventory spreadsheet.

Now, just follow these simple steps to display your attributes on the frontend product pages.

1. Open the “Bulk Edit” Tool

The Bulk Edit tool allows you to apply mathematical formulas and mass changes to thousands of products simultaneously without overloading your server. You can edit any of your product fields—change titles, edit short descriptions, adjust stock, or, in this case, change deep attribute settings.

Open the tool by clicking on the Bulk Edit button located on the plugin’s top toolbar.

2. Mark the “Is Visible” Option for Your Products

Inside the Bulk Edit popup, we need to configure the logic to target your attributes. WP Sheet Editor gives you two highly flexible options: you can enable visibility for every attribute across your store, or you can target specific attributes only.

Option 1: Mark “Is visible” for ALL product attributes storewide

Use this option if you want every single attribute attached to your products to be displayed in the Additional Information tab.

  • Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows). Note: If you only want to apply this to specific categories, use the Search tool before opening the Bulk Edit popup.
  • What field do you want to edit: Product attributes
  • Select type of edit: Change attribute settings
  • What settings do you want to change: Is visible?
  • New value: Yes
  • What attribute do you want to edit: All
  • Click on Execute now to apply the mass changes.

Option 2: Mark “Is visible” for SPECIFIC attributes only

What if you use some attributes strictly for backend organization and don’t want customers to see them? You can easily target specific taxonomies, like making only “Color” and “Size” visible.

  • Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search (including non-visible rows).
  • What field do you want to edit: Product attributes
  • Select type of edit: Change attribute settings
  • What settings do you want to change: Is visible?
  • New value: Yes
  • What attribute do you want to edit: Here you need to select the exact attribute you want to display to customers. For example, select pa_color to display colors, or pa_size to display sizes.
  • Click on Execute now to process the update.

As you can see, you don’t need to waste days of manual labor or hire an expensive developer to write custom PHP snippets just to activate the visibility option for your product attributes.
