WooCommerce – Search for Product Reviews Containing a Keyword

In this tutorial, we will show you how to search for all WooCommerce product reviews by keyword.

This can be very useful if you want to find all reviews with negative words towards your products or reviews containing foul language in general.

This is impossible on WordPress because you can’t find comments or reviews that contain a specific word.

However, with WP Sheet Editor – Comments and Reviews plugin, you can find all comments by comment type, post type, keyword, date, status, etc.

You can also apply bulk changes to hundreds of comments and reviews, and export/import reviews to make bulk migrations of content along with their comments and reviews.

Once you install and activate the plugin, follow this quick guide to set up the spreadsheet.

1- Open the product reviews spreadsheet

To view all your comments and reviews on a spreadsheet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Comments.

Then, you’ll see all your WordPress comments and WooCommerce reviews displayed on a spreadsheet inside WordPress.

2- Open the “Search” tool to filter all your product reviews

With the Search tool, you can filter your comments and reviews using any field as a search parameter. You can also use combined search filters to narrow down the search results.

3- Search for WooCommerce product reviews by keyword

Once you’re in the Search tool, you need to select the following values to find all your WooCommerce product reviews by keyword:

• Post type: Product (product)
• Comment type: Reviews
• Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox and select the following values:
• Field: Content (comment_content)
• Operator: CONTAINS
• Value: Enter the keyword you want to find.
• Hit the Run search button.

Once the search filters are applied, you will see all the reviews that meet the search criteria displayed on the spreadsheet.

4- Optional – Export your filtered product reviews to a CSV file

You can use all the search results to create an external database using a CSV file.

Once you’re in the Export tool, you can select the following values to download all the filtered product reviews to a CSV file:

• What columns do you want to export: Select all the columns you want to export. You can export all columns or the active columns only.
• Which rows do you want to export: All the rows from my current search
• What app will you use to edit this file: You can use Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
• Name of this export: You can add a name here for future exports.
• Hit the Start export button to download the CSV file.

Once the CSV file is downloaded to your computer, you can open it with your selected app. In this case, we’ve opened the CSV file with Google Sheets.
