Once installed and activated, follow these steps to edit your affiliate links using WP Sheet Editor:
1- Generate the links spreadsheet
- Go to WP Sheet Editor > Setup Spreadsheet.
- Select the Affiliate Links post type.
- Click Save.
Now select the columns you want to display in the spreadsheet.
- Enabled: This side shows all the columns that will be visible in the spreadsheet.
- Disabled: This side shows all the columns that will be invisible in the spreadsheet.
- Click Save to generate the links spreadsheet.
Once you do this, you’ll see all the affiliate links in the spreadsheet. Every row will be an affiliate link and every column will be a field.
2- How to do advanced searches
The plugin contains a Search tool that allows you to do searches using any field as a search parameter.
To open it, click Search in the toolbar.
Here are some examples of the searches you can do with WP Sheet Editor.
a) How to search for affiliate links by link categories
If you want to search for affiliate links by link categories, you just need to do this:
- Enter the desired category in Enter Link Categories.
- Click Run Search to filter the affiliate links.
In this example, we filtered all the affiliate links that belong to the Products category. You can see them displayed in the spreadsheet after applying the search parameters.
b) How to find affiliate links by redirect type
If you want to find all the affiliate links with global redirect type, just select the following values.
- Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
- Field: Ta Redirect Type
- Operator: =
- Value: global
- Click Run Search to filter all the affiliate links with global redirect type.
Once you apply these search parameters, you’ll see all the affiliate links with the global redirect type displayed in the spreadsheet.
c) How to look for all the affiliate links that open in a new window
Sometimes, links open in a new window, and here we show you how to use that checkbox as a search parameter.
- Tick the Enable advanced filters checkbox.
- Field: Ta New Window
- Operator: =
- Value: Tick this checkbox.
- Click Run Search.
After these values, you’ll see all the affiliate links that open in a new window displayed in the spreadsheet.
3- How to bulk edit thirsty affiliates links
You can use any of the previous search options to select the affiliate links you want to edit. Once you’ve filtered them, you can bulk edit all the search results.
To apply changes to all the filtered affiliate links, open the Bulk Edit tool with one click.
Here are some examples of the values you need to use in order to bulk update your affiliate links.
a) How to replace destination URL
If you have created different affiliate links using the same destination URL, you can replace that destination by selecting the following values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Ta Destination URL
- Select type of edit: Replace
- Replace this: Enter the old destination URL.
- With this: Enter the new destination URL.
- Click Execute Now to apply the changes.
b) How to enable/disable the “Open in new window“ option in bulk
If you want to enable or disable the “Open in new window” option for all the selected affiliate links, you just need to select the following values.
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Ta New Window
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: Tick to enable or untick to disable
- Click Execute Now to apply the changes.
c) How to change the redirect type for all the selected affiliate links
We’ll select the 302 Temporary redirect type for all the selected affiliate links in this example, so we need to select these values:
- Select the rows that you want to update: Edit all the rows from my current search
- What field do you want to edit: Ta Redirect Type
- Select type of edit: Set value
- Replace existing value with this value: 302 Temporary
- Click Execute Now to apply the changes.
