Once edited and activated WP Sheet Editor, you need to follow these steps to bulk edit schema rich snippets on WordPress.
1- Open the posts or the pages spreadsheet
You decide what you want to bulk update: posts or pages.
- For pages, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Pages.
- For posts, go to WP Sheet Editor > Edit Posts.
In this example, we’ll use the posts’ spreadsheet. Therefore, you’ll see all your WordPress posts displayed in the spreadsheet as rows and their complete information as columns.
If you right scroll in the spreadsheet, you’ll see all the fields created by the Rich Snippets plugin displayed as columns.
Something important to mention is that the plugin will display a set of columns for each rich snippet type you have created in your site. For example, if you already created a post whose rich snippet type is a product, then you’ll see a set of columns related to products. If you create a software rich snippet type, then you’ll see a set of columns related to software.
You can modify the values in any of the cells in the spreadsheet. This way you can update posts individually and yet you’d save a lot of time because you don’t have to open posts one by one nor save changes every time you update a post.
2- Select the posts you’ll bulk edit
It’s possible that when you edit the posts massively, you don’t want to modify them all. That’s why WP Sheet Editor allows you to select which posts you will update. Here we show you how to do it with the Search tool and how to select the posts with the checkbox picker that the spreadsheet includes.
a) How to select posts using the Search tool
If you want to select all the posts that contain a specific keyword or all the posts that belong to a specific category, you need to use the Search tool.
You can open it by clicking on Search. It’s on the toolbar.
Once you open the Search tool, you’ll find the following search options:
- Contains keyword: Enter any word and the plugin will filter all posts containing it in the title.
- Author: Enter any author here and the plugin will find all posts created by that person.
- Enter Categories, Tags or Formats: This field works with categories, tags and formats. You can enter any of these parameters and the plugin will find all posts containing it.
- Run search: Once you set the search parameters, click this button to filter all posts.
Once you click Run Search, the plugin will filter the posts and display them in the spreadsheet. You’ll be ready to go to step 3.
b) How to pick specific posts to bulk edit them using the checkbox selector
To select specific posts to bulk edit them, you can use the checkbox selector on the left side of the spreadsheet.
3- How to bulk edit schema rich snippets for all the selected posts
After selecting the posts you want to edit, you need to open the Bulk Edit tool with one click; it’s on the toolbar.
